0:00On April 17th, rumors are swirling that the Denver Broncos might pull off a trade-up on Draft Knight with a keep to leave dropping that hint. They're sitting at pick number 62 in the second round, and while a jump to the first round would be huge, it's looking slim without there. Third rounder this year. GM George Patton addressed it in his pre-draft presser with Sean Payton, calling a first-round move unlikely since it had cost most of their picks now, and next year. But he's wide open to climbing higher in the second round, maybe using those fourth rounders as bait. Broncos fans have seen this playbook work before. Over the last five years, without a first-rounder twice, Patton nailed it in the early 60s, Nick Bonito at 64 in 2022, Marvin. Mims Jr. at 63 in 2023, and RJ Harvey at 60 last year. Those guys combine for four all pro nods already, proving the value. Even with media and fan shade calling them reaches at the time, Payton and Payton stuck to their guns, just like with Bonix.
1:01No first round dream for Kenyans to dig types, but the 60s is Broncos territory. Draft kicks off Thursday April 23rd at 6pm, Mountain Daylight Time, tune in live, and see how it shakes out from pick 62.
