On April 16th, a 75-year-old British pensioner drowned after a rip current swept him out to sea while swimming off Huahin, Thailand. His Thai girlfriend watched helplessly from the beach as he struggled in the rough waves. A local fisherman found his body near a pier, around 4.30 pm, on Wednesday. The man had traveled to Thailand alone after losing his wife. He lived with his kids back in England but was staying with his girlfriend. They arrived in Huahin on April 6th and planned to head back on April 20th. He made it a habit to swim alone every morning at that spot, where waters were usually calm. But that day, strong waves kept everyone else out and no lifeguards were around to warn swimmers. Police say he entered near a deep ferry channel, dredged for big boats heading to Chonbury, likely pulling him under with the current. His body went straight to Huahin Hospital for a post-mortem exam. Officials are notifying his family overseas, reminding us how fast beach conditions can turn deadly in tourist spots like this.

Stay sharp out there, folks.
