British Man Charged for Al-Shabaab Ties

0:00On April 9th, a British man named Germain Grant, a 43-year-old with no fixed address, just got hit with serious charges for directing. Operations of the Somalia-based terror group, Al Shabab. He's spacing accusations of attending commando training three times in the city of Kismail, and possessing an AK-47 rifle twice for terrorists. Use all under the UK's terrorism acts from 2000 and 2006. These charges cover activities from December 31st, 2007 to January 1st, 2010, when Al Shabab was ramping up its control in Somalia as an Islamist militant outfit. Counter-terrorism policing in London called this a major win from a long investigation, stressing they'll chase suspects no matter the time or place. Acting commander Chris Wright highlighted how they don't let distance or years go by without action. Al Shabab, meaning movement of jihad-a-youth, grew out of civil war chaos in the early 2000s, linking up with al-Qaeda and holding sway over.
