The war between the U.S. Israel and Iran has escalated. In just the past few minutes, U.S. President Donald Trump has said that the U.S. military has hit Iran's hargoyland, and the small strip of land is Iran's most strategic oil hub. So far, hargoyland was left untouched by the U.S. and Israeli military campaign. Let's bring in John Holman now, who's standing by in Washington DC for more on what the president had to say about this, because this is an escalation here, John, hitting these military targets on hargoyland. Yeah, I've just been passing through the post that President Trump put out on truth social, the social media site that he prefers. And it seems that, although he doesn't say it is many words, he's going to try and use this as a piece of leverage. I think the clue is when he says that he hasn't yet targeted the oil infrastructure on the

island. He says that what the United States Central Command did is execute one of the most powerful bombing raids in the history of the Middle East and totally proliferated every military target in Hargoyland. So that's his words, obviously, and it remains unindependently verified. He says that he hasn't wiped out the oil infrastructure on the island, however, should Iran or anyone else do anything to interfere with the free passage of ships through the state of Hormuz. I will immediately reconsider this decision. So it seems that he's saying, and as you were saying, this is incredibly important this island. It's been talked about since the start of the conflict, because it is Iran's main crewed export terminal, and it's responsible for the overwhelming majority of Iran's oil shipments. So from what President Trump is saying there, he's left it that oil machinery alone for the moment, but it's undefended, and if Iran continues to obstruct ships going through

the straits of Hormuz, then they're going to do something with that oil infrastructure. Moving up on the take, what does the US's war on Iran look like in China? That's the take by Al Jazeera. Find it wherever you get your podcasts.
