Ladies and gentlemen, we got some breaking news this Tuesday morning. The Green Bay Packers have officially signed Free Agent Corner Benjamin St. Juiced, formerly of the LA Chargers for one year, previously spent four years in Washington. Was a third-round pick from Minnesota. NFL Network Insider, Ian Rappaport, and Mike Garafolo broke the news this morning.

2:04Multiple outlets quickly confirmed it. This is the Packer's first external free agent addition in the 2026 cycle. He is 28 years old. He will be turning 29s in September, so we'll go with 29. Pretty big dude, 63-200. Got great length. In fact, when I was looking at I was going to do a little bit more on the corner thing the other day when I was talking about Jamel Dean B and the guy. I was kind of going through some different things as far as what makes a Ganon Corner. And I decided not to really fully go into it because it was some little bit of conflicting information. It's always tough, too, when you got the differences between the Eagles and the Cardinals and all that kind of stuff. But one thing that stood out immediately when I saw Benjamin St. Juice. I always called him St. Juice, but I think that he is silent. One of the things that came up is length. Don't necessarily need to be a burner. We can

3:05kind of handle a couple of different things here and there. But the sort of big, long-armed, able to knock you off your route guys. That came immediately to mind when I saw 6, 3, 200 pounds from Mr. St. Juice. But the Packer signed him to a two-year 10 million dollar contract with up to 10.5 million with incentives, so not a ton of incentives in there. If we quickly take a look at PFF, it's honestly not massively flattering. Again, he was a third-ground pick in Washington. He played out his rookie career there and they immediately let him go. That in and of itself is not a great sign. His coverage grades over that time were 49 in his first year, but he didn't play a ton. Then he started playing more in 2022. He had a 60 grade than a 56 grade. Those two are not terrible considering it's basically average, especially 2023 when he played his most. It was roughly average, plus he had a 75 run defense grade, which is nice. And then in 2024,

4:07it dropped back down to a 46 grade, which is not good. The next year, which I've had some people kind of point out, oh, man, he's got. He had a great, great last year, 76 grade, 67 run defense, 81 tackling and 78 coverage. All of that is fantastic. He only played 378 snaps, though. So he, I mean, he did fantastic. And it's definitely worth noting that. And again, you've got schematic questions. Was there a difference between the chargers in Washington that caused him to be better? Is it something that we can capitalize on? Is this something that Ganon can capitalize on? And well, I'll tell you what, we'll save a little bit of that conversation for tomorrow. But suffice it to say, this is a lower contract. We're talking 5 million bucks for a 29 year old player. What I see this as, and there's other news. I'm going to do some more breaking news in a second. This is a cheap fill in to make sure that we have a baseline roster of players that we feel

5:11comfortable with that we can also work to start replacing. Because again, there's only so many picks and we don't know how the draft is going to fall in. Even if it, even if the picks, the positions fall the way that we want. We don't know that they're going to be able to come in and start day one. And so we need to have a guy that, you know, everything goes wrong. This guy can start. And so we have to assume at this moment, Benjamin St. Jews will start for us. But we also have to remember that this is more or less, let's go get a Ganon guy, a bare minimum Ganon guy. And then we'll start the process of trying to find better starters down the road. Now, the only other question would be the compensatory picks. And yes, he does count against us. So this is the first in the negative column. But remember, we have, or we'll have, we don't have them yet, but Romeo and Quay Walker, excuse me, Romeo and Rashid Walker will sign contracts. Presumably, we will have four and four is the max. The fifth guy will be presumably in Agbara,

6:14who signed for 10 million. This is five million. So we're still very much, we're not having anything deduct from the signings that are actually going to matter. Okay. The other breaking news, didn't it? The packers have informed cornerback, Nate Hobbs, he is being released. So this is kind of a, I guess, an expected thing. Now, a couple of things here. Number one, we kind of expected this would happen. Brian Goudekun's Ted mentioned he was unhappy with last year. The only thing he's really expressed directly any kind of displeasure with is the cornerback group. He hasn't really expressed it in any other way, saying that that's an area that he really wants to kind of fix. It's also worth noting a couple of things. When you look at St. Jews, for example, look at the type of player. Let's assume for a second. Again, we'll dig into it tomorrow, but let's assume for a second you are looking for a bigger, longer type of corner. What are we doing with Nate Hobbs and Kishon Nixon? That is the exact opposite of the type of

7:19outside boundary corners that you're looking for. Bullard doesn't, I mean, he's a slot guy, but I mean, Nixon and Hobbs, not to mention Hobbs is extremely expensive, and he wasn't good last year anyways. Seems like a great dude. Maybe he would have bounced back injuries the whole nine yards. I get that, but it just doesn't really make sense to continue this because Ganon's coming in saying, I don't know why you did this, but it's not for me. And we certainly could use that money better elsewhere. And so this was, you know, Jacob Morley said, biggest whiff in the Goody era. Maybe I still would say banks is a bigger whiff, especially committing to him even longer, but whatever. Obviously, not a good signing last year was a blemish, excuse me, a blemish on Goodykin's record, no question about it, even though there was nothing worth doing in those situations is better to do nothing than go out and spend big in a bad free agent class. But according to Tom Silverstein, this is going to be a post June 1 release. And with the post

8:25June 1 release, the Packers gained 8.8 million in cap space this year and take on 8 million next year, the Packers paid 18 million for 11 games. Obviously not great, but that will sort of maximally give us money this year. And the Packers are pushing a lot of money into this year. You know, I don't know exactly what the plan is here, but I wouldn't be mad if they're angling to free up some money to go maybe get a premier defensive tackle from the Philadelphia Eagles or something. Tom Silverstein, Stein, whatever it goes on to say the key point on the June 1 release, the salary cap relief doesn't come until June 1. So the Packers will carry his full cap number until then, then they'll gain the 8.8 million. So they, oh, you know what, you know what that signals? Christian Watson slash Tucker or whoever that, I mean, that money isn't going to help us today. And then you think, well, what the heck after June do we need this money for? That's when we sign the big contracts for those guys. And that might be what a lot of
