00What's your favourite food? How many calories does it have in it? How much energy does it give you? Why do you love it? And if there was a food that you could only eat that for the rest of your life. Every day for the rest of your life, you could only eat that one food. Do you have one of those? Very surprisingly, because I've been an exercise professional all of my life. I'm healthy, fit, strong, lean in the jetty. And I love my life and I never get sick. And I wake up every day with the stack of energy and I'm always performing at my best. My favourite food is bread. In all its forms. Bread, crumbits, muffins, toast. I just love it. There are other people who tell me rowing bread will kill you. It's bad for you. It's carbohydrate you shouldn't eat it. Well, here's a great question. Whatever your favourite food is. If somebody tells you that you can't have it, must and haven't shouldn't have it. Don't have it. It's bad for you. Number one is that possible that you want it more. Number two, if you can't have it and you want it, is it possible that you'll get stressed, angry or annoying
00and want to have it even more. So there's going to be a time in the future that you binge on it. The reverse is if somebody tells you that you can't have it, because it's bad for you and you'll eat it anyway, then you feel guilty that you ate it. So now your body's full of stress and guilt and anger and frustration and annoyment. There's not even a word that I just love it. Is it possible that that screws with your head? So here's a great question. What do you love to eat? And if somebody tells you that you can't have it, could it be a really good idea to ignore that information? The reverse of that is if you have a body that is healthy, fit, strong, lean and energetic, every system in your body is fit and strong and is working effectively, is it possible that you'll have a very fast basement, or a high basement metabolic rate for you that calories that you need to survive to exist is high? You have a fast metabolism, so everything you put into your body gets burnt up fast, because you can move fast, because you can do everything quickly with a lot of energy.
03So you need a lot of energy to do it, which means you've got a fast metabolism during the day. And then the beautiful thing about particularly about bread, fat, takeaway food, lollies, chocolate, whatever it is that you love to eat that everybody says is bad, your respiratory question, which is where the calories are coming from. If you're really fit because you get puffed at 100% effort, and if you're really strong because you live heavier to 100% effort, you now have a respiratory question, which simply means where are the calories coming from at the moment? Now if you live in your aerobic system, which we do all do 24-7, which is breathe in oxygen, breathe out carbon dioxide, your body uses carbohydrate and fat and a little bit of protein, when you live in that system, that's just normal. But when you get really fit and when you get really strong, so you start tapping into your phosphate system and your lactates system, your fight and flight system, you're 100% effort system. And you get really fit and you get really strong. Your body has to change. There's chemical responses, chemical reactions that have to change
04because you're putting in 100% effort. You're not just flooding through life in your aerobic system. So when you go at 100% effort, ten seconds of sprinting, ten seconds of lifting, you overload intensely all the organs systems. Your endocrine system, your central nervous system, your digestive system, your immune system, cardiovascular, spiritual systems, skeletal and muscular system, when they all get overloaded, your body says we need carbohydrate to do that. If we need carbohydrate for those high intensity workouts, we now need to burn less carbohydrate when we're resting. So let's burn fat instead because we've got a stack of that. Every human body's got a lot of fat on it. We've all got some of between 42, 50 billion fat cells and I always share, I didn't count them. Apparently that's how many. But we don't have to have fat fat cells. We can have thin fat cells. We can have fat cells that don't have very much fat in them. If we have a respiratory quotient, start again, that your body prefers to burn fat when you're resting.
04And most of us rest more than we exercise. So Rowie, how come you can eat bread and how come you can eat other favourite thing? I love white chocolate. So I've got white tin cans today. They're on specials. So I've got quite a few packets because I love them. Easter's coming. So I've got Easter buns. These ones are really yummy because they've got very, very moist which means lots of butter in them. And they've got white chocolate and peaches in them. Now to me that's just the ultimate Easter bun and I'm very excited about eating them. But to have a body that burns up food like that, you have to have a fast basement metabolic rate. So your body has to burn a lot of calories to survive. You have to have a fast metabolic rate and I'll share again that means you do everything faster because your fitur and stronger so you can. And you have a respiratory question that prefers to burn fat when you're resting because you're putting in 100% effort during your exercise. And there's an interesting side note there. People say I want to burn fat or calories when I'm exercising. I actually don't and there's a reason for that.
05A really important reason. It's not just me. When you don't go for very long, you only go for 10 seconds. You don't burn very many calories. It's only 10 seconds. When you go 100% effort, you don't put any fat at all. So I don't want to burn fat when I'm exercising. But I want to burn a stack of that when I'm resting. Which means I have to change my respiratory quotient. To wrap all of that up, there's three really important things. What do you like to eat and make sure that you eat it? Because otherwise you're going up screwing mentally, screwing up your head. Don't eat food that you don't like. Why would you waste calories on food that you don't like the taste of? Because food's such a yummy thing. But we don't need. There's no excess. We don't need excess food. We just need enough food to feel fantastic and to enjoy our life. Because food for a lot of people is a very important part of their life. Me, I love it. But the third part of that is get really fit and get really strong so that your body burns up everything that you put into it. So that the food that you eat, because all food will end up in your fat cell if you don't burn it up. So protein can convert to fat and end up in your fat cell.
07Carbohydrate can convert to fat and turn up in your fat cell and make your fat or in fat up. Fat's already fat. So that's pretty easy for that to get into your fat cell and make your fat up. But if you burn them all up before they can be turned into fat or before they get into your fat cell, now you've got a lean body. And the lean body comes from being really fit and being really strong because you exercise at 100% effort. So then you can come into the kitchen and not feel guilty, not feel stressed about not being able to have the food that you love. I love bread, so I'm very happy to be standing here with my life of bread and enjoy my dinner. Yum, yum. You don't have to eat any food that you don't like because there's a lot of people say you have to eat this because it's good for you. But how about find what's good for you, for your headspace, mental health, for your physical health? And I always ask four questions that I think are the most important four questions. Do you have a stack of energy? Do you perform at your best? Do you love what you see in the mirror and do you love the way your body feels to touch?
09Those two go together. And how are you getting the results that you want from your eating an exercise plant? If the answer is yes, why would you change anything? You're doing really well. So when somebody says to me, Roa, you should need bread. It's bad for you. But I've got a stack of energy. I perform at my best. I love what I see in the mirror. I love the way my body feels to touch. And I've got a... I'm getting the results that I want from my eating an exercise plant. Then I'm going to include bread because I love it. If the answer's no, you don't love what your body looks like. You don't perform at your best. You don't have a stack of energy. And you're not getting the results that you want. Then you have to do something different. So even if you preach and you are convicted and you believe, I believe this is the way you should eat. I believe you should be accountable. I believe you should be vegan vegetarian. I believe that you should need bread. But you're not getting those results. Then maybe it's time to rethink what's going on. Is it possible? Could it be possible? That mental health, a resilient strong head and a healthy fit body go together.
09And a really healthy head. Then controls your endocrine system. Then controls your central nervous system. Then controls every other system in your body. So everything works well together. Now that's just something to consider. Because I would never tell anybody what to eat. I would love everybody to eat what they love. Eat when you're hungry. Stop hitting when you're full. Don't waste calories on food that you don't like. And make sure that you're performing your best. You've got a stack of energy. You love what you see in the mirror. And you get the results that you want for an eating and exercise plan. And is there any other way to live your life to the max? I love bread. I can eat it every day. Yum!
