Botnets Shut Down, Cyber Threats Slowed

These networks, called ISURU, Kim Wolf, Jack Skid, and Mossad, launched distributed denial of service attacks, peaking at 30 terabits per second. They hit targets worldwide, including the Department of Defense's Information Network. The takedown came through a joint operation with law enforcement in Canada and Germany. U.S. teams seized internet domains, virtual servers, and other key infrastructure linked to these crimes. The botnets had infected more than 3 million devices globally by March, mostly everyday items like web cameras, digital video recorders, and Wi-Fi, browsers, victims faced huge headaches from these attacks, with some losing tens of thousands of dollars in cleanup and downtime. The operators ran a cybercrime service, selling access to the hijacked devices so others could launch their own assaults.
