Boogie Fland Returns to Gators, Boosts Offense

0:00On March 26, Florida Gator's Guard Buggy Fland announced this week that he is returning to Gainesville for his junior season. The sophomore average 11.3 points, 3.3 assists, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.7 steals across 35. Starts last year, his season featured some standout performances amid ups and downs. He exploded for 23 points, 5 assists, 4 steals, and 3 rebounds against Tennessee early in conference play. Later, in February, Fland posted 15 points, 8 assists, and 8 steals versus Alabama, tying a program record for steals in that blowout. When Fland shared that he loves being a gator, but wants to finish some unfinished business after a mixed year, as his first full college campaign, he sees room to grow, especially on offense, and plans to work on it this off season. For head coach Todd Golden, keeping Fland means strong continuity, and the key playmaker who runs the offense in Guard's top perimeter threats.
