Bold, I think it's easy to say the second period you guys liked a whole lot better than the first period. Would you agree with that? For sure, yeah. It wasn't our best start, I think. I'm going into the intermission and talking to each other and realizing that it wasn't our best and going out and putting that period out there was good. So it's gotta keep building. You get your 37th of the year, Caprice F gets his 38th. Is there a friendly rivalry going on here as you guys continue to chase each other? Everyone's beating off each other and you're just loving it? No, we just like to score. That's the biggest thing. You know, the team's been doing great. Everyone's making plays and creating opportunities. And, you know, there's no happier guy than when I see the puck going up from him. New career high and points for you. We talk a lot about some of those guys on the blue line. I want to talk about a guy in particular tonight in Jonas Brody, 900 games in the National Hockey League Bulls.

1:07What have you liked about watching him in your time here in Minnesota? Man, he's just so good. He's got to be the most underrated. I don't want to say unknown name, but I don't think he gets the appreciation he deserves. What he brings every night defensively is so special, but I think when he's out of the lineup, you notice that difference. The way he can break pucks out and get away from guys and start everything for us. So he's unbelievable and we're super happy he's on our team. Last thing I'll let you go. A cool moment prior to the game. Dropping the puck ceremony, a puck drop for the women's Olympic team. They too won gold over there in Italy. Did it bring you a flashback? Some good moments? Reliving it through them as they get to celebrate it here in St. Paul? Of course, yeah. I think, you know, the applause they got from the fans. You know, how big USA hockey is right now. The high it's on. How dominant those girls were in that tournament. I think going and watching their games, it was it was noticeable how much of a different level they play at compared to almost everyone else.

2:14So, you know, they're so fun to watch and for them to go out there and, you know, have the puck drop and to see some familiar faces from around the village and obviously around the rank here. It's pretty cool. Well, you guys have some fun moments in that second period. Keep it going in the third. Thank you. Here you go. Late in the second period, a beautiful move by Caprice off. Rockets went out of the crossbar and a wild of their first lead at 2-1 Minnesota. Yeah, after a sleep, a sleepy first period of a while.

3:15They were down one zip and out shot nine to two. They get into the second, get a couple of goals from their superstars. Boldy with his 37th. And then now and there by Carole Caprice off. Wildly the flyers now to one after 40 minutes of play. Tom Reed upstairs in the owl shaver press box. Pretty impressive. Second period after a period that was, I think everyone was ready to forget after period one time. Yeah, I think you're right Kevin. The thing is, you know, it's the big guys wanting to come through. That's who you look to. You look to your start players to make the things happen for Minnesota. And we see that already when you look at Minnesota, the fact of Boldy and Caprice off both of that goals. You got to use with two assists in the game here tonight. Zuck Guerrilla with the assist favor. So those are the guys you count on to get the points for it. And the other guys, especially that third and fourth land, they have jobs to do too. Not so much getting points as it is being, you know, the Nemesis on the ice and trying to play a very solid physical game and force the opposition in the mistakes. The question is, is this the first time in franchise history? You've genuinely felt confident about the wild's chances and or capabilities to actually win the Stanley Cup. Yeah, I think you're right, Kevin. I mean, I go back to the year 2000 when they started. Of course, a lot of players that were not star names playing for the team. And they did very well going to the playoffs, especially in 2003 when they went to the conference finals. But in my estimation, this is the best team the Minnesota has ever put on the ice together with the star power that they have right now. And they can go a long way if they can stay healthy and they can play this game as a team should play as especially going into the potions and play. Stay healthy would be huge. And that's where the two on eight area code wants to go. It's not used to having all these options available and being able to sit guys out when need be a time in your opinion. Is it something that the wild can use to their advantage to actually rescues down the stretch?

5:19Well, they can. Absolutely. I mean, once you're in the playoffs, have a position secured where you want to be. And it depends on where they're going to be at that point. But what I like about this team is the fact that they have played well together. And you know, you've got players that you expect to be the top and the top six and you got players to be in the bottom six. But the competition from within is very strong. Mostly in that bottom six. I mean, you've got some pretty good talent on the front end already in the first two lines. But that third and fourth pairings have got to be good also. And especially if you want to go any place in the national hockey league when it comes to the playoff run. I got this from Dan. When in soda on the Twitter machine, it's a picture of Gump Worsley's spread eagle in the crease. And you looking over him. It happened 54 years ago on this date. The caption says in a game with the Maple Leafs at Met Center, North Star's goalie. Gump Worsley makes a stop with his face in his knocked out cold, producing this famous picture that I just described.

6:20What do you remember about that moment? And I obviously assume Gump was okay. Well, he was fine. Gump was the only guy I know went down. Whenever he got hurt, he went down on his back with his arms out and his legs out. Like, he was going to make a snowman. But he was great. Gump was a great teammate also. But in most cases, he was probably just taking a rest. He told his wife to arrange. He said, look, when I go down like that, if I move my left foot, I'm okay. If I move my right foot, I'm hurt. And if I don't move either foot, call the entertainer because I'm dead. That sounds like Gump. From the 7-6-3 area code, they're in a heated battle right now. I just asked Matt Boldy about it. He says it's not a rivalry. Whoever scores, it's a good thing. But the 7-6-3 area code wants to know, who's going to score the most? Will it be Capriceff? Will it be Boldy? And could they each get to 50 goals this season? Well, that's possible. There's no question about it. And they're holding in on that right now. But at the same time, you know what? I think they really love the play together on a team.

7:21They're not so much worried about getting the goals as they are helping this team win games. And there's no question about that they like to score. They both like to score, but they're unselfish. I mean, there's no question that these are players that are willing to give up opportunities to shoot to get the puck to some of their buys. But they both are so, so good when it comes to handling a puck and getting shots at that and getting goals. All right, Tom, thank you. Tom Reed is back and he has Tom Reed's hotline.
