Wild still trailed the Black Hawks 2-1, but a big goal there in the middle frame to get the Wild back on the board, joined by Wild Forward Bobby Brink, Becky and the lineup. Recap the first 40 minutes for me, first off, Bob Bobby. Yeah, I think we're playing pretty well. I just got to keep playing down on their end and putting pucks on that. That goal, Nicol Sturm finished it off, but a nice setup by the young guy Hunter Hate. Kind of cool to see a young guy get rewarded for his hard work. It was his first point in the National Hockey League. Yeah, everyone's super happy for him. We made a nice play there showing speed and an end skill. How about you? It's been a while since we've seen the lineup. You land on the roster at the Trade Deadline. You come in, you have an immediate impact, and then you go idle for a little bit due to injury. Back tonight, how you feeling? Yeah, I'm feeling good. Just trying to get back on the swing of things and help the team.

1:03How helpful is a feeling is that you're on a new team. You're trying to get acclimated with your new teammates and then your sideline for a handful of games. How helpful is that as a player? Yeah, it's definitely not ideal. I think you're trying to get back as quick as you can, especially being on a new team and just trying to get situated here. It's kind of nice and old Minnesota is all about, but even during that, they gave you a welcome home and a nice blizzard to welcome you back to the state of hockey. How was that that about start the show on? How about the folks around you? Yeah, I mean, it reminds me of my youth right away, immediately in the snow and the cold, and that's good to be back. All right, you've got to get this third period. How do you get it done here in the final frame to end this thing? And then come over to those two points. Yeah, I think just kind of keep with it. Tom nice to see the wild get on the board. This has been a tough one. All things considered hasn't been terrible, but still down to one to the Hawks. That's something they want to rectify in the third. Yeah, you're right Kevin. I think you're absolutely right too. Also the fact this has not been the most exciting game to watch. Hopefully it's going to pick up here in the third period.

3:07And the problem is when you're playing against a team that's out of the playoffs, they're working hard, Chicago is working hard. They want to win a game because they played in a sort of three other times this season. And have lost all three in extra sessions. So we'll see what happens here in the third period of that. Minnesota's got pick up the pace. They can turn around when they want. So hopefully they'll take place here very quickly. All right, let's get to the questions. We'll start with this one from the 6-5-1 area. Code Tom, you were a defenseman in the National Hockey League. Did you enjoy when your defensive partner got switched up on the fly like they did tonight? Yeah, you know what? Yeah, you're true. You want to play with different people also. Because you're not going to stay with the same person all season long for the most part. So you're playing with different people. And because I was becoming one of the senior guys here, I would play both sides right side and left side. And I always tell kids today. And tell the parents, let the kids play different positions. So you understand it better. So you understand what it's like to take a pass off the boards or whether it be a rebounder around the boards or things like that. But make sure you play every position possible.

4:08But it's nice when you do have someone you play with a lot with and you really get to understand exactly where you're going to be on the ice when you do get the puck. Part two of that question is, who was your favorite defensive partner in all your playing days? I would have said very good. Very good sign of work well together. He was on the right side. I was on the left side. And we seemed to be roomed together also on those days. We had two to a room when we traveled. That does not occur very much anymore in the national hockey. But you get to know him and his family and what takes place. And he and I still keep in touch over the years. From the 3-2-0 area code time, we talk all the time. How important it is to be healthy going into the playoffs and in the playoffs. And now here the wild are in the latter stages of the regular season. Carole Capriceoff is out. Juleric Sinek is out. Are you worried about the long term health of these guys? Because a lot of their playoff aspirations hinge on those two in particular. Yeah, no, to be honest, I'm not really worried about this. This is game number 70 for a minute so they get 12 to go after tonight.

5:10And that's going to go over the course of about two to three weeks or yet in the season. So I think a lot of times when you get to this point also, you want to see what the young kids can do coming you do. But at the same time, you want to give your veteran players a little bit of a wrap. And there's any type of injury and so on given enough time they can heal. So they are ready also. Speaking of that, what have you thought about the impressions of Hunter Hate tonight compared to his first five games in the national hockey league? Great. I mean, I really have enjoyed watching him in this first two through two pairs. And even watching him in training camp. I mean, he had great speed. They had him up here. But I think they did it right by sending him down to develop in the minors where he's going to play against some very tough games down there. And physical games down there, but he's been very good so far from Minnesota in his first two periods. Here's the million dollar question from Jared and Maple Grove. Everyone kind of assumes that Dallas is going to be the team that wild face in the first round of the playoffs. Still a little ways away, but it's creeping up on us before we know it. But now you look at the standings. I mean, Dallas just beat Colorado. Maybe it was last night in the shootout.

6:10They're closing the gap a little bit. They haven't caught him yet. But they're making that an interesting race there for the top spot in the center of the vision. Whoever gets it avoids the Minnesota wild and falls back to the number two team would face the wild in the first round. Do you have a preference? I always say don't be careful when you pick it. Don't pick your poison. But you look at Colorado right now. They have a two-point lead over the Dallas match. We're going to play one of those two teams. That's for sure. We just don't know who it's going to be because when you look at the points they go from Colorado 98 down to Dallas at 96 Minnesota at 90. But then you've got you tub act well behind Minnesota by 14 points there at 76. So it appears it's going to be either Dallas or it's going to be Colorado. So I have to wait and see what happens. But it's just your big day. I think Minnesota and they're healthy going in. I think they've got the horses. They can make it happen. Yeah, it could be easy, but it could be easy for any of the three teams. No matter what the matchup is. Yeah, you're right. And the goal of the beginning of the year wasn't so much about getting the playoffs.

7:11It's getting beyond that first round and hopefully that will happen this year. Quick one here from the 612 area code. Nico Sturm gets his fifth of the year set up by Hunter Hayd. What have you thought about Nico Sturm this season back with the Minnesota wild lots of potential. Seems like a great asset to the team. Says the 612 area code. What do you say, Tom? I like him, but yeah, one of the reason I like him is because it's face off ability also. And the face offs this year, he's one of almost 55% of the draws. He's got five short handed goal. So he does well with penalty kill. And that's one of the broader men for those two reasons. The face offs in a penalty kill and he's he's he's done exactly what he has to do for this team.
