Legendary game show host Bob Barker struggled deeply after his wife Dorothy Jo die from Munk Cancer in 1981, just two months after her. Diagnosis A producer from The Price is right, shared that Barker fell into a severe depression and even considered ending his own life. Without his wife to keep him grounded, Barker changed on the set. Former model Holly Halstrom described him as becoming overly self-centered during his decades, hosting the show from 1972 to 2002, 2007. Halstrom faced a tough fallout with Barker. He fired her, claiming it was over her weight gain, but she insisted it was because she backed another model, Deanne Parkinson, and a sexual harassment, lawsuit against him. The legal battles dragged on for years. Barker countersuit, but Halstrom won a multi-million dollar settlement in 2005 for wrongful termination, discrimination, and related claims.
