Three spots are hosting special gatherings from Saturday through Monday, perfect for folks looking to learn, swap, or connect without spending a dime. On Saturday, March 7, the Birmingham Public Library Central Branch kicks things off with a talk on Alabama's food preservation push during World. Expert Dr. Martin T. Ollef explains how canning turned into a keyway community supported the troops. It runs from 11 a.m. to noon at 2100 Park Place. Meanwhile, Sunday, March 8, brings a relaxed vibe at Homewood Public Library. Their puzzle swap lets you trade gently use puzzles for fresh ones, building bonds with neighbors over brain teasers. Drop by from 3 to 5 p.m. in the large auditorium at 1721 Oxmore Road. The fun continues Monday, March 9, at Hoover Public Library's Kindness Summit.
