Billy Monger's Paralympic Triathlon Quest

0:00In Lester today, March 2nd, Billy Manger, a 26-year-old double amputee from Surrey, is training hard for the 2028 Paralympic Games in Los Angeles. The former racing driver aims to compete in the triathlon, which mixes swimming, cycling, and running into one tough event. His team is designing a single pair of prosthetic legs to work for all three parts of the race, calling it a real challenge. In the past, he has switched between running blades, cycling legs, and no prosthetics at all for swimming. The push comes after a near-fatal crash at Donington Park in 2017 that led to his leg amputations. Manger once dreamed of Formula One racing, but pivoted to broadcasting and endurance challenges. He already smashed the Iron Man World Championship record for double amputees in Hawaii last year.
