The piano man announced back in May 2025 that he has normal pressure, hydrocephalus, where fluid builds up in the skull and presses on. The brain. He canceled all his upcoming tour dates right after. The condition got worse from his performing schedule and caused problems with his balance, vision and hearing. His doctors put him on physical therapy and told him the skips shows while he recovers. He's grateful for the fan support and good medical care. Alexa Rae says her 76 year old dad is treating the diagnosis very seriously. He and his wife Alexa's have two young daughters, 10 year old Delarose and 8 year old Remy Ann. Meanwhile, musicians including Alexa Rae are honoring him at a tribute concert called The Music of Billy Joel. It's happening Thursday at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
