Leanne Moriarty, the author behind the original Big Little Lies book, has announced a sequel called Big Little Truths. It hits shelves on August 25th and will serve as the basis for season 3 of the HBO series. The story jumps 10 years ahead, catching up with the main characters played by Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Laura Dern, Shaline Woodley, and Zoe Kravitz. The plot picks up as their kids enter high school, right after an alarming discovery shakes things up. In all kicks off at Madeline's 50th birthday party. Meanwhile, a mysterious new man starts hanging around the school, asking questions that rattle the close-knit group of women. These moms have to confront the secrets they've kept from their children, facing the full fallout of their past lies. Corey already stays hands off with the TV adaptation, calling herself just an interested bystander. Still, the show has shaped her writing.
