Big East Honors Basketball Legends

0:00On March 3rd, the Big E's conference just announced his third annual basketball legends recognition program. Each of the 11 member schools picked one standout former coach or player from their men's program, and one from their women's program. These honorees will give special shout outs during the upcoming tournaments. Women's legends take center stage on March 7th, M. O'Higan's Sonorina in Unkasville, Connecticut, right before the quarterfinals. For the men, recognition happens during each team's first game at Madison Square Garden in New York City, starting with the first round on March 11th and quarterfinals on March 12th. Commissioner Val Akerman called it a great way to celebrate folks who shaped the conference's 22 basketball programs over the years. These picks range from early pioneers to more recent stars who become part of Big E's history. The men's group features names like Butler's Joel Cornette, Yukon's Daniel Marshall, Creighton's Ryan Sears, and Xavier's Two Holloway, one from each.
