Bicyclist Critically Injured in SUV Collision

The crash happened in the intersection of Charles Street and Fifth Street, leaving the 42-year-old man from Derby in need of hospital care. Police arrived just before 1 pm to find the SUV and bike tangled up at the crossroads. Officers quickly got the area under control while tending to the rider. The man was rushed to a nearby hospital and remained in serious, but stable condition that day. His injuries do not seem life-threatening, which brought some relief to first responders on scene.
