2:03All right. There's nobody I'd rather be talking to right now. There you go. Sammy and Pat of play Tessie. It is your prerogative to lie. Oh, God. We need we need to we need to get a running list going of robbisms to make sure we use all the time on the show. But today we're going to be talking about some of the remaining free agents, the stragglers, the last one we got about six names here that we all think should have teams. I mean, it is March 5th, March 6th, March 7th. Like it is it is time to get some of these guys contracts, right? Like Lucas G. Lito, the biggest name on the board. That is a guy who pitched to the tune of what was it? Three, four, four ERA last year, a legitimate mid rotation starter for one of the best teams in baseball last year and one of the most hitter friendly ball parks. And I mean, we really haven't heard much of anything this off season. We heard it like maybe some conversations with the Tigers.

3:04They got Verland or maybe some conversations with the Yankees. They got weather's some maybe there was maybe like a murmur about the Rockies or something at one point. I don't think he should go there. Lucas G. Lito needs a team and he should put himself in a good spot where if he has another good year and he can now say that coming off injury, I've had back-to-back good seasons. I deserve this contract and some team lockout permitting. We'll give it to him. Yeah, I mean, we've spoken about this before on Play Tessie. It's it disgusts me that Lucas G. Lito is still unsigned here on what how many dates did you mention? March 6th, 7th or 8th. All these days that we're recording on. Like I know I get it. I get it. It is not lost on me that the peripheral numbers are not great with G. Lito. But 145 plus innings to a 341 ERA. Even if even if he regresses, if his ERA goes up half a run, he is still a valuable pitcher.

4:07So I don't want to hear it. I don't want to hear. I'm acknowledging it right now. I get the peripheral things. But now we're over it. I don't want to hear anymore. He should be on a team for the life of me. I cannot understand why he's not signed yet. Yeah. This is the guy who you go back to November. There were talks he might get a QO. He had a really solid year. It wasn't like he went out there, struck out the world, all star. He started the year a little bit hurt, ended the year a little bit hurt. But in between the two injuries, he pitched really, really well. And this is a guy who spotty track record, but for the most part has a really good track record. It's actually from the year that he played for three teams in one year. He's not old. He's not. There's really no reason. We keep saying it, but there's no reason that this guy does not have a contract at this point in the off season. And it's just so strange. You get to the trade deadline and teams are chomping at the bit to trade legitimate prospects for rentals.

5:08And rentals considerably worse than Gialito. And you've got this guy sitting on the market coming off the year he's coming off of, I assume at this point he's going to have to take a one year deal. Like I assume that he's not sitting on the market because he's asking three years and it's March. It's the beginning of March. Like, no, like this guy's going to get a one year deal. And it's just it's going to be frustrating. If I were a fan of a team that trades really anything for a mid rotation starter or worse at the trade deadline and they passed on signing Lucas Gialito at the beginning of the season, I'm like, it would be frustrating to me as a fan of that team because it's just it just feels like poor management. I just he's a great, he's always seen as a great clubhouse guy like his on field production speaks for itself. It's not like he's older. It's not like he's asking anything up like above the moon and stars. I just, I don't get it. Go to you just set it. He's 31. If you were 36 or 37, okay, I get it. I get it.

6:09You can expect some regression. He's 31 and hasn't had a normal offseason in years. This is the closest he's been to a normal offseason and by most of the reports, he's been healthy for the vast majority of it. So he should be good to go. He's probably not going to be good to go at this point because he's going to get a late start. So it's going to become another weird offseason. But it goes back to what I was saying earlier, like why there's so many contenders, so many fringe contenders even that could use a guy like Geolito to be their third or fourth or even fifth starting pitcher. But yet we're here talking about a one year, probably like $15 million below what his market value should be kind of deal. Makes me sick. Don't forget, he's set on this very program. Baseball is important that he's healthy and he's done that a long time ago too. He did. So let's pick teams. Where are we predicting Lukas Julito to sign? Samuel, I'll let you have the first bite at this one. All right.

7:10I'm going to go boring. This is boring. And you guys might have the same prediction. I think he's going to go to the Atlanta Braves. The Braves have so many injuries to their starting pitchers. Gordo, please let me know if I forget anyone. Spencer Strider has been dinged up. A wall drip is out. Shwellenbock is out. Who else? Who else? Smith-Shawvers out like they are really banged up. And that's a team that I know they weren't great in 2025. But I think a lot of people, myself included, think they can contend in 26. Lukas Julito helps with that. I think it's a seamless fit. So I'll give you their rotation and spoiler. I also have Julito to the Braves. I think it's an obvious, like it's an obvious, obvious fit at this point. If he doesn't go to the Braves, Braves fans should be up in arms over it. Pat. Also have him going to the Braves. Okay. So yeah, I mean, that was honestly to be expected. But here's their depth, their depth chart of starters. They got Chris Sale, Spencer Strider, Reinaldo Lopez, Grant Holmes, Bryce Elder.

8:13If I also got Joey Wentz, Martin Perez, like, yeah. It's just, and not to mention they free, they just freed up 15 million. I think it's 18 if you count luxury tax as well with saving all that money on Jerkson Profar, maybe get into that one a little bit later when we talk about an outfielder available. Actually, we can go to him next. Tommy Fam is still available. And newsflash, I've got him going to the Braves as well. Oh, okay. And I'll give you my reason why. This is a team that Jerkson Profar, weirdly, I guess, was going to DH some. It was, it was a conversation in Braves Camp, who's going to be the DH? They just signed Mikey Stremsky. They've got Michael Harris. They've got Ronald Acunia Jr. One of those four guys with Profar in the mix was going to have to DH every given day. Now you've got room for an outfielder slash DH, assuming that was their plan that they had before. There's one clear cut outfielder on the market. Now the Andrew McCutchen has signed with the Rangers.

9:15Jerkson Profar to the Braves, I think it makes sense. Again, saved all that money with, or sorry, Tommy Fam to the Braves. They saved all the money with Jerkson Profar, who, for the life of me, I don't understand what, what goes into, what goes into deciding to take, what, what was the, what was the, come on, doctor, what do you got? What was it called? They are talking about the Profars, Profars, Profars PEDs. It was like a, it was an adogenous steroid. Yes, it was like, adogenous. It just means for my, to your body. Oh, okay. Well, yeah, he did that. Second year in a row. 162 games, suspension, looming. It blows my mind. Their statements, do you guys see the Braves statements side to side? I think their statement should just be like, dude, we don't know. Last year, last year's statement said something along the lines of like, and we were, we were really surprised by this and like, we hope he learns from this and this year's statement had none of that, but all the other words were basically the same.

10:16I don't get why teams just don't like kick these guys to the curb. They're like, we don't know why he did this. He's an idiot. He's gone. Well, Profars, Profars three year deal, which I think was like 42 mil. He basically missed out on most of it last year. He's going to miss out on all of it this year. And we'll see what happens next year with the lockout. He could get practically nothing out of that contract. Mm-hmm. Good for him, good for him. He doesn't need the money. He wants the glory. He's going to get another suspension and tie Henry Mahia for the most suspensions. And then he'll be famous. He's playing chess, not checkers. Yep. So I've got Tommy fam taking his spot on the braves. And him and G-Lito probably will end up costing a little bit more money than Profars did. But I mean, they said they wanted to be in the upper echelon of payrolls, go into the off season, put your money where your mouth is, jump back into the tax, they can do it. And they probably should. They're a team built to win now. And it may not be perfect, but this is how you do it as best you can at this stage.

11:20I think that's a good one, Gordo, Tommy fam, to the braves. When I was looking at fits for him, I was trying to find a team that was borderline contender that could give Tommy fam at bat. So my first thought was the Texas Rangers, but they just signed Andrew McCutchen. So I'm crossing them off. Next best guess, if I'm not going braves for the sake of, you know, being diverse with our picks, I'm going to go with the Arizona Diamondbacks, a reunion for Tommy fan with Arizona. They're dealing with some injuries in the outfield. They have Corbin Carroll with the Hammate bone. That's the invogue injury right now. Right field is kind of up in the air with Barossa, Pave and Smith, left field, Lordis Gouriel. Eh, depends how you feel about him. Barossa could play there too. Tim Tawa, maybe DH as well. I think Tommy fam could get at bats for Arizona. And then they either keep them if they're contending or they flip them at the deadline. It's not a great fit. I don't think it's a fantastic fit at all, but it's good enough at this point in the

12:21off season for a guy like fam and the twilight of his career. I think that's a situation like that is probably the best he's going to get. So I had a very similar thought process to you, Sammy. A little bit different though. The way that I thought of it, it was, what is it to what team out there can give Tommy fam summit bats has a reason to sign him and then could eventually flip him at the deadline. So I went through and I was looking and I thought about a couple of different teams, but the one that I ended up settling on is going back to where it all started in St. Louis. I think St. Louis, because like you said, Sammy, this is a guy who's got, you know, who knows how much long left in the league. I doubt he wants to sign a minor league deal. You go to a young team that's really not going to be good, but it's a place you're familiar with. You can kind of mentor these young guys a little bit and then deadline rolls around. The Cardinals are not going to be good. They flip him to a team trying to make the wild card, whatever. I think it's a match that works. He gets majorly playing time and if it never bleeds, it's moved at the deadline.

13:25The Cardinals bring back a guy they had over a decade ago and they get a little bit of veteran leadership in that clubhouse. I love it. Move on to the next one, Zach Letel, who, man, another one I can't believe is still a free agent. I'm going to play a role in that. He did have a 4-3-9 in 10 starts with the Reds after getting traded by the Rays. But this is a guy who's been a legitimate big league starter since 2023 where he started the year with the Giants, goes to the Red Sox as a reliever, pitches two games, then goes to the Rays and in 26 games and 14 starts in 2023 has a 3-9-3 ERA, just a guy who's been consistent. The fifth number has historically just, I mean, back to last year, it really weren't that bad. But you know what I mean? He's been a consistent pitcher three straight years. It's crazy to me that he hasn't been able to walk in at least even a one-year deal.

14:29He's a guy where if he didn't get traded, I would have thought about him as a candidate for the QO in the same way as I thought of Geolito as a candidate for the QO, fascinating to me that he has not found a team. I'll give you guys the team that I've got for him. I'm going to give it to the Minnesota twins here. Just lost Pablo Lopez. A team that, I mean, they tore it down at the deadline last year, but they didn't operate this offseason as a team that's fully tearing it down like they didn't seem to be interested in dealing Pablo Lopez or Joe Ryan. Joe Ryan specifically would have been a very, very hot name for a lot of teams. We just didn't really hear those discussions go anywhere. And then they fired Derek Falky. We had a whole conversation on bib notes a couple of weeks ago about just that. I think Zach let tell to the twins, could be a good fit as a potential sign-um. One-year deal, flip them at the deadline. We need arms to get us to the midway point and we can reevaluate where we're at at that

15:32point. Trade the guy, get something back, maybe pay down some of the money. I think it's a good fit. It's not a fit that's going to be like, okay, Zach let tell us the missing piece to a championship team, but maybe some team trades for him at the deadline and is upset that they didn't sign Lucas Geolito before the season, but they get Zach let tell and he gets him to the postseason and maybe hands it off to their top three or four starters from there. I like that. Twins were definitely in the mix for me, but I went with the angels and this is simply because kind of similar to the Tommy fam fit. I think that let tell would get a spot in the rotation for the angels and by the grace of God, if they contend, fantastic, keep them. They probably won't contend though, so that's a great piece to move at the deadline, kind of similar to your twins idea. So self-explanatory, Zach let tell angels, I think it's a solid fit. Also, they can't develop pitching to save their lives. So why not just side one? Gorda, I also had twins.

16:32I think their rotation after Pablo Lopez is not the best. It's Joe Ryan Bailey, Obers, Debbie Matthew, Simeon Woods, Richardson, and Taj Bradley. None of those guys are established, beacons of health and for the exact reason you did. I think it's a team that they're not in a great division. I don't think they'll be good either way, but let tell will be let tell and they can flip at the deadline. All right, next up on the list is the one reliever that, or sorry, no, we got two relievers on this list. The one lefty reliever that we've got on this list, Danny Coulon, who had an awesome start to the season with the twins before season kind of took a turn for the worst when he got traded to the Rangers, but still seen as one of the better, one of the better left-handed relievers on the market from the jump this off season. Like, I saw him as a guy who could get, I don't know, $6 or $7, $8 million deal. I don't think he's going to get that anymore, and out at this stage now these guys are fighting for NRIs, or they're fighting to get major league deals and not take NRIs, and Danny Coulon

17:37might be in the territory now where you take one and have to fight for your spot. I think he'd earn it, but a guy coming off the seat, the couple of seasons that he's had, weirdly got non-tendered by the Orioles two seasons ago, off another good season. All right, teams just don't believe in guys that throw low 90s, but the surface numbers speak for themselves with Danny Coulon. I want to start it off with one of you guys, Sammy, where do you have Danny Coulon signing for this off season? I'm going to go Red Sox. I think this is pretty straightforward. Red Sox have a need for a left-handed reliever. Right now, the only lefty they have in the pen is Giovanni Moran, other than Chapman who's going to be handling the ninth inning. Other than Moran in the system, it's Tyler Samaniago. You could maybe move Patrick Sandival to the pen if he's healthy, but the point is these aren't great options. Coulon, velocity aside, steady, consistent veteran, not a star, but steady, so I think he fits well in Boston. I'll go with the Red Sox.

18:38I'll go second here because... Hey, Sal. Hank? What's going on? I haven't worked a case in years. I just bought my car, Carvana, and it was so easy, too easy. I think something's up. I think they could try to sell it to the fan base, not acquiring one, say how much they love Giovanni Moran, say that we believe in San Diego, say at some point if it gets there that Patrick Sandival could be an effective lefty out of the pen, like they have options that they could turn to and they got it right last year. They signed Justin Wilson when no one thought he could pitch and they got it right. In that sense, maybe they've earned the benefit of the doubt, but when you're a team

19:41like the Red Sox, that's trying to compete for a world series and you've got a good lefty like Danny Kulowm out there and he's probably not asking for much and it's going to be a one year deal very low risk. I just don't understand why you'd put yourself in a position to potentially have to trade for that need mid season when the type of guy that you'd be trading for is available right now for not very much. I haven't gone to the Red Sox and that's something I just absolutely think the Red Sox should do. So I knew that you guys are going to do Red Sox, so I tried to mix it up a little bit. I'm going to go Yankees. The reason I say that lefties on their roster right now, including Ryan Weathers who I think breaks camp in probably for the whole season is in that rotation. Tim Hill, Ryan Yarbrough, that's it. Well, funny. Team USA, Yarbrough. But Yarbrough, you know, mid four's the array, nothing special throughout the most of

20:43his career. Last year, it was whatever, Tim Hill is like, they're going to ride that guy to the ground. He threw 70 games last year. He threw pretty much every lefty inning, every inning where a lefty was useful to play off for them last year. They need something more useful than Ryan Yarbrough. So for that reason, I think Danny Kuhlung fits really, really well. And again, one year deal, older guy at this point is going to be cheap. I like it, Pat. I like the creativity because you knew, I mean, we do play Tessie. We've talked about Danny Kuhlung. We've talked about the Red Sox need for bullpen. Good to mix it up. Next one, what if I told you guys that there is a starting picture available that has been an all star in two of the last four seasons and has made 25 starts or more in each of those four seasons? And he's available right now.

21:44What would you say? I would say, are you talking about Tyler Anderson? I'd say lucky guess. Ding ding ding. Tyler Anderson. Wow. Because Sammy got it right, I'm going to let JK Pat, you're going first. Okay. I'll go first because I love where I pick. I'm going to go Tyler Anderson to the Chicago White Sox. The reason I do that, they're a teacher right now is Shane Smith, who all star, mind you. All star. All star is in that rotation now, Pat. Yep. Oh, yeah. And the Lord's work. Anthony K, who was not pitched in the majors since I believe 23, 23 after him, Sean Burke, who, you know, or sorry, Davis Martin, kind of middleing young, whatever, Sean Burke, young, not proven and then Eric Fettie. I think Anderson is the perfect vet in that clubhouse with Fettie.

22:46Even if he ends up being like a swing man coming out of the pen, starting some games wherever it may be. And then much like a lot of these guys left over, I think it's a one year deal. And if Tyler Anderson pitches even remotely well, you flip it at the deadline. If not, it's not going to hurt that young clubhouse having Tyler Anderson on the south side for an entire season. Okay. I'll give you another one that I picked also because of a short rotation. I picked the A's wherever you want to say the A's, the Oakland A's, the, the, uh, Sacramento days. I probably said the right one third, but whatever, the Sacramento A's, their rotation right now, Luis Severino, Jeffrey Springs, and then it really goes downhill from there. Aaron Savali, Jacob Lopez, J.T. Ginn, they've got Luis Morales and they're like, there's, this is, this is a rotation that could use a depth arm. Even if he's not necessarily going to make the rotation, give him a minor league deal, let him have an opt out, like maybe at the end of April or mid May or something, give him a chance to make the team. He had a five six, uh, five six fit last year, four, five six, he had a five six fit.

23:51So this is a guy who probably, and especially at this point in the off season, like let's be honest with ourselves, he's either going to need to take a minor league deal or hope that there's a long reliever role, uh, a mop up guy role in a bullpen at some point, but even then to be ready, he would have to take an NRI with an opt out at the end of spring training to get there. So there's, there's a lot of moving parts that need to happen, but I think the A's could be an interesting spot for him. So I'll have him go in there. Keep him on the West Coast, by the way, his teams, Rockies, Giants, Pirates, but we'll put them aside because it doesn't fit my narrative. Mariners, Dodgers, Angels, five out of six teams, and the Pirates was only for, uh, part of one year. So he's been on the West Coast whole career stay there. All right. I got him going to a slightly different coast. Porto, you spoke about it, Tyler Anderson, this guy has been an all star 2022, 2024. So I'm sending him somewhere where he can continue to be an all star. I got Tyler Anderson signing with the Hanwha Eagles of the Korean baseball league Hanwha,

24:58one 83 games last year finished a game and a half behind the LG twins. I think Tyler Anderson and his fastball that sits at 89 miles an hour is a good fit overseas. Um, yeah, I think the fit self explanatory. So it's Anderson to Hanwha Eagles a slightly different coast. I have no idea you're going there. That's so good. We just got to see if they can, they can overtake the LG twins this year. All right, last one, man, that's, that was good, Sammy. Last one, Michael Kopeck, front of the program, baseball is a boring. I don't know how this guy's not signed yet. I understand the injury history, 14 games in 2025, total in 2024, pitch 67 games, the year before 30 games, but 27 were start. So really, he's been a reliever for two seasons. Uh, this year in limited action, two, four, five ERA and 14 games. The year before with the White Sox and Dodgers had a three, four, six, but with the White

26:03Sox, it was a four, seven, four and 43 games. Think it gets traded to the Dodgers and wouldn't you have it 24 games to a one, one, three, like, shocker, shocker, shocker, shocker. So where do we have Michael Kopeck going? Um, so Kopeck's not a superstar by any means, but I think he's a steady, ish reliever with good upside at the very least. Um, I've got to go to the San Francisco Giants. That's a team that is, you know, not a top contender, but they, they have a shot to make the playoffs. I think they perfectly fit that fringe contender status, tough division as well with the Dodgers and the Padres. Uh, but I think Kopeck slots in and that seventh or eighth inning, uh, a guy with playoff experience, leverage experience. He's not going to change the team, but he, he gives them a little boost and I think the fit is nice. So I got Michael Kopeck going from the former Dodger, going to the rivals San Francisco Giants.

27:04Dodgers fans everywhere, man, shaking in their boots over that one. You know, they're going to have, well, they're going to be upset. Yeah, it'll be like, it'll be like the Giants getting revenge for the Dodgers taking Blake snow. I feel like that makes it even. Oh, yeah. Um, well, I don't have them going there, though, and I've got them going to a different coast, but not as different as Tyler Anderson's coast. No, I've got him, I've got him going to the Baltimore Orioles. On yesterday's play, Tessie, we just talked about how the Orioles lack bullpen depth could be a team that, I don't know if Michael Kopeck to me just, I, he doesn't scream NRI to me, but it, I mean, we're in a march and that's generally what happens at this stage. He, to me, he's been good enough to get a guarantee when he's been on the field, but even if it's an NRI, like the Orioles, if you're, if you're healthy, if you're Michael Kopeck, you will make that bullpen and have a chance to pitch meaningful innings late innings, meaningful games. Don't have to be one of those guys that, that makes a, a bad team's bullpen and, and has to hope that you're traded to the right team at the deadline. Like, no, you can, you can just be in Baltimore, be in that bullpen.

28:07They're going to be competitive and you can play a meaningful role. So yeah, I've got Michael Kopeck on to the Orioles there. I mean, really, it's just Helsley, Kitchridge, Yenyeir Kanau, and a bunch of what ifs in Baltimore right now, Felix Batista, not there for this year? So yeah, I've got him going to the Orioles. I think it's a good fit. So I was between two teams, the Orioles being one, so just for some variety, I'll go with the latter. I'll go Chicago Cubs. Oh, um, Daniel Polensia had an unbelievable year. They've said that he's going to open the ears, the closer, top five in that bullpen right now is Phil Mayton, Hunter Harvey, Caleb Fieldbar, Hobie Milner, Jacob Webb. So they do have some quality arms there. But if you add in Michael Kopeck on a reasonable deal to that mix there, Polensia has a spotty track record to say the least. It gives them plenty of options for leverage they can mix and match.

29:08Kopeck seems to have figured out the command a little bit once he got to LA while he was with LA. He's a limited action. He's just because of injuries and everything. But pitched in 38 games, 35 innings, 154, ERA as a member of the Dodgers. So if he can replicate some of the commands stuff that he seemed to have figured out in LA, I mean, that puts the Cubs bullpen over the top. Really? I wonder, like maybe maybe the answer here is the Dodgers, like he's like, it could just be the answer. That was my, I was, ah, when we were planning for this, I was so close to going Dodgers, but that's what made me think, giant's pat. I really like Cubs. I didn't even cross my mind, Cubs. So that's a, like that would make for a very strong bullpen and you're right about Polensia, good closer, but spotty track record. It's good to have a guy like Kopeck waiting in the wings just in case. Yep. So we have solved, oh, wow, to you, here we go. We've solved a lot of the world's problems today. Yep. There it is.
