BHP's CEO Steps Down, New Leader Takes Helm

He will hand over the top job to Brandon Craig, who has more than 25 years of experience in operations and leadership at the company. During Henry's time in charge, BHP became the world's biggest copper producer. He put heavy emphasis on the massive copper operation at Roxby Downs in Australia. That shift paid off, with copper now making of more than half of the company's recent half-year profits compared to iron ore dominating before. Henry called his tenure a real privilege and expressed pride in the progress made. He highlighted how BHP is now safer, performs better, and stands ready for future growth. He also praised Craig as the perfect pick for the role. He currently serves as BHP's president for the Americas, overseeing commodity operations
