Welcome to another episode of the 59 minute podcast, which is brought to you by Fancy Whipple Scouts. I'm Mark McGelligan. You'll find me across social media at FPL General. Just a little international break check in with you all. It is a very long three week break. So, this episode will go out, and then I'll record again after the FA Cup game. So, you'll get two episodes before the gimmick 32 deadline, which is not until Friday, April 10th.
05This one will be just a quick gimmick review. There's no player shout outs. We'll have a look at some stats and defensive contributions from the last game week. Update the watch list ahead of the final few gimmicks of the campaign. I was going to do listener questions, but to be honest, the ones that came in, we kind of need to wait on more fixture news. I'll probably just skip over the questions for this one. Park some of them, answer them on the subsequent episode, whenever that is, in the week leading up to the deadline. We'll have a very early look at Captain C for game 32, and what my transfers might look like. I've got two frees and loads of cash in the bank. Make sure you hit subscribe or follow Revy Listenen for future episodes, and leave a five star review as well if you enjoy the show. It's patreon.com, forward slash FPL General. If you want to support me as a full time content creator for FPL, slash stay at home dad. There's a link in the description to do so if you want to check that out. A quick review, quick reminder for myself of how the game went.
06Fees like a lifetime ago, even though it was only last weekend. I only used one transfer, I got rid of Semenyo who had a blank game week, and I've brought in Anthony Gordon, so that move went well with Anthony Gordon scoring against Sunderland, but they did go on to lose that game. So roll the other transfer, two frees available. Small green arrow went up about 40,000 places, 681K, jumped up to 639K. So pretty sure I haven't been inside the top 500K yet. So with a few more chips to play, hopefully we'll be there before much longer. The points came from Amy Martinez in goal. I had Captain Bruno Fernandez for 26, which a lot of people did. Elliot Anderson got his death call this time for five points scored with 10. And Igor Thiago somehow got defensive contributions as well for a four pointer from a striker, which doesn't happen very often. I had an absolute disaster on the Friday night. I had Harry McGuire and James Hill. McGuire was up for a Bruno corner, looks like he scored.
06Turns away with his hand up, celebrating. But it turns out James Hill gets the own goal for a minus one. And McGuire gets sent off. The only good thing was he hit Defcon. So it wasn't a minus two. He finished on a big, fat zero. It was blanks as well for his teammate Brennan Wemmel, way too many blanks from him recently. He's on the shot and block. You could see the same about Cole Palmer. Chelsea, a bit of a disaster. And Ekateeke ate minutes with a dead leg. Come on, man. This is the Premier League one pointer. He is also on the chop and block. The bench was made up of blanking players. Two from Wolves, Mane Sa, Gabriel from Arsenal, and O'Reilly from Manchester City. Good to see. Encourage to see O'Reilly score a brace in the cup. So it was a cup for Champions League. Can't remember, but he definitely scored a brace over the last week or two. So he is definitely going to be staying in the team for the next couple of game weeks. Zootopia 2 has come home to Disney Plus.

Bundling. Just another way to save with the personal price plan. Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there. Prices are based on rating plans that vary by state. Covered options are selected by the customer. Availability, amount of discounts and savings and eligibility vary by state. As I said, no new members join the 15th and eighth minute club in Blanking Week 31. Hopefully we get some next game week. Jumped into the Scout members area today. Have a look at the numbers as usual. Defenders. Lewis Hall. Three chances created. He looks to be the best Newcastle defender now. Given that Malik Chau was surprisingly benched with burn and botman, playing at center back. So it's a bit dodgy going from Newcastle center back when they've got three good options. Justin Leeds, who's very cheap.
09Three chances created and three goal attempts. Playing as a wingback. And they've got good fixtures for the rest of the season as well. They've got, they've also got Beijol and Rodon. So we're kind of blessed with cheap Leeds defenders. They've got a clean cheater too recently as well. Nico Williams, notably taking some corners. We don't always see that. He took three corners in that fixture in Gaming 31. Morgan Rogers, I sold them recently. Many other sold them. Those who kept them got a sex pointer. And his underlying numbers were a little bit better. And that's when he had four chances created. And he took four shots at goal. So even though I sold them recently. But those fixtures look better now. They've got a nasty Gaming 37, 38. If my memory serves me correctly. But in the meantime, Rogers is one we might want to go back to with Villa Fightin' for top four. Elsewhere among chances created. Elliot Anderson with three.
09Bruno Fernandez with three. And Anton Stack also with three. Same names coming up here. Most Game Weeks. Anthony at Burnley had two big chances created. Joe or I do a weekly very with Joe on the Scout YouTube channel. And since the start of the season, he's been trying to get me to buy Jayden Anthony. And I said to him, I might do it for Gaming 38. Just to give him the satisfaction. They've got a good fixture. I think possibly home to wolves on the final day. I'm not going to have much to lose. Come Gaming 38. So it'll either be Jayden Anthony coming in or. I might need to break my no-salaril, given that he's decided he's going to leave. Liverpool at the end of the season. The greatest FPL assay of all time. I might need to bring him in for one week. And maybe captain him on the final day. I think that would be a fitting way for me to end my season. With one last captaincy call on the legend that is, Muhammad Salah. Elsewhere in terms of stats,
10Bruno Fernandez and Hari Wilson both registered six goal attempts. So I'm a happy Bruno owner. I need to get Hari Wilson soon. I don't want to get to the end of the season and not have, have not won them all all year because this is his season. And we should all have him. Morgan Rogers, I mentioned four goal attempts. Enzo Fernandez, three shots in the box. Chelsea are a bit of a disaster though. So Bossly took eight corners for Liverpool. Stack took six corners for Leeds. Ollie Watkins, five goal attempts. Is he on the radar again? What are his minutes going to look like? As someone is looking for differentials. Added them to the watch list again. And Jared Bowen, five corners for West Ham. Ekiteke to Bowen is something that could definitely happen in my team. And I'm pretty sure that would be a reversal. Given I'm pretty sure Bowen made way for Ekiteke five, six, seven weeks ago. And it did not go well. The defensive contributions, notable mentions in gimmick 31 for Dan Bern,
11visual Michael Keen, both for a center box Malenkovich and Marillo Hedet. Fandite dead as well. Harry McQuire, thank you for that. Alderetti, Joheem Anderson, and Electric Steve. And the midfielders, Elliot Anderson, Subosly and Granite Shaka. So again, Loads of familiar names here for defensive contributions. Will they stay next season? Who knows? But yeah, I think they probably are here to stay. Good mind seeing a couple of tweaks. You know, I think players who hit, you know, the defender needs to get 10. If he gets 20, he should probably get more points. And it could even be, if a defender gets 10, they get two points. And then if they get another 10, they maybe just even one more point rather than double. And we could do the same for midfielders as well. Because we do see, you know, some monstrous defensive contribution numbers. And players probably should be rewarded for that in FPL. Be interested and see if any changes come in the off season. Watchlist update. Quite a few changes made.
12Follow in the blank. I have removed Sinesee because I've got James Hill. And I'm not going to be looking to double up there. I've removed Richards. Don't love the palace fixtures. They're going to be juggling Europe as well. I've removed three setting defenders. Gahi, Aitneri and Nunez. Just because short term, the next two fixtures are not great on paper for clean sheets. But of course, if city have a double game week, I will look at their defenders. If that happens, removed Angel Fernandez. Just not doing enough. Raul Himines has gone as well because Minisee is fit. I'm getting minutes now. So I think Raul maybe only got about 10 minutes in gaming 31. Whereas Minisee played most of the game. And Stranglarson gone from the Watchlist also. Because Meteta is back in the picture. Players added Lewis Hall. Probably shouldn't have been on the Watchlist before now. Minisee is back on the Watchlist again. I don't like the palace fixtures, but I love Daniel Minisee. And I like him as a differential, possibly at some point before the end of the season. Marie Cash as well.
13I've got Martinez. So I probably should be open to doubling up on the Valor defense. As a differential play. Cash has obviously got attacking potential as well. Morgan Rogers back on the Watchlist. As is Oli Watkins. Hello guys, Declan Rice and Bokai Osaka. I've only got Gabriel at the moment, which is not enough Arsenal cover. Until the league is wrapped up. We should have as many Arsenal assets as possible. So I'll be looking to get Declan Rice back, possibly maybe Sack instead. At lower ownership. Gibbsweights on the Watchlist again. But I've got Anderson's what probably won't be going for Gibbsweights. But in isolation, I think he's a good pick. Mateusz Kunja added because he's performing better than Brian and Buemo. Could I make a sideways switch there, possibly. But I think it'd be more likely to go to a different team if I sold in Buemo, probably for Hari Wilson. For example, don't really care about films, fixtures. I just think Hari Wilson's going to take along until game 38. And finally, added a couple of strikers, Danny Wellbeck for obvious reasons.
14And Brian Brobe, who was really impressive. I watched the Newcastle's Sundering game back, watched 90 minutes of it this week, had it recorded. And he was superb, Brian Brobe. One of the best all-round striker performances I've seen for ages, holding up the ball, gave the centerbacks an absolute turret time, and then deservedly got the winner towards the end of the game. So again, possible differential for me in these final few weeks of the season. America leads the world in medicine development. It matters. We get new medicines first, nearly three years faster. Like I said, just going to skip over the questions. There was a couple about the ideal Wildcard team for Gaming32.
17I'll definitely cover that in the next episode, because we'll have more clarity on the fixtures. A couple of questions about specific players and stuff like that. But everyone's a way to play an international. So a lot could change by the time I get the microphone out again. So no point wasting any time on that. I will preview Gaming32 a lot more detail after those FA Cup fixtures. Captainsy, very early look at Captainsy for Gaming32. I'm pretty sure I will be on Bruno Fernandez for the third straight gimmick. He plays at home to Leeds. It's a Monday night fixture, which always helps. Let all the other Captains fail. And you've got hope right until the end. Arsenal are at home to Bournemouth. Good fixture on paper. You know, Saka, possibly a Captainsy candidate for anyone who has them. Jared Bowen's at home to Wolves. I would like to get him in. Not sure I have a captain. But he's in there. He's in the mix. Erling Haaland is a way to Chelsea. That's probably fine. I mean, the most recent Chelsea performances haven't been great. So Haaland could be up for that one.
18And Igor Thiago is at home to Everton. But again, I think there's better options that I already mentioned. So I think Bruno Fernandez overall will be the most popular captain. Because it's home to Leeds. And because Erling Haaland is a way to Chelsea. A quick look at my boss team. Just to remind myself what players are actually on in FPL at the moment. I've got Martinez in goal. He's a way to forest. I've got Virgil, Gabriel, who's flagged and Nico O'Reilly. So that back three seems absolutely fine. As long as Gabriel is okay. Midfield of Captain Bruno Fernandez and Brian and Wemmo. Wemmo's on chat and blog. But it's Leeds at home. So I could just keep him for that one. But I've been saying that for weeks. And he's not really doing much. And he's getting early substitutions as well. Alien Anderson, who I expect to be in my start in 11. Every week for the rest of the season. Cole Palmer, home to Mancetti. Don't like that. Don't like Chelsea. He's not definitely staying in the team. So it could be between him, Wemmo or Palmer to go.
18But I think Ekateke might go first. Because I know other owners are feeling the same as me. He has been a really frustrating pick. Fulham at home is good on paper. But Liverpool are not very good. That is the other issue. Anthony Gordon, obviously stays. He's just come in last game week. He's got Palace away. And then I've got Igor Thiago, home to Everton as well. Which is obviously a good fixture on the bench. Jose Sa, Hill, who's away to Arsenal. So hopefully some Defcon there. If he's needed money, survives and hurry McGuire. With a big red flag for his suspension. Transfer thoughts. Again, not much point looking into it until we get more information on fixtures. I've got two free loads of money in the buying 4.6. Of course, I've got no wild card because I played it in gaming 24. I've only got the free hit chip and the triple captain chip. Loose plan is to play free hit aggressively in a double gaming 33.
18And then hopefully be able to get through gaming 34 with free transfers. And then triple captain, who knows. Hopefully another double game we get some point down the line for another team. The options, very early options for gaming 32. I could just roll a transfer because the team is fine. As long as nothing happens during the break in terms of injuries. Three free transfers for double gaming 33 would be pretty good. If I do make a transfer. I could TK to Bowen, certainly on my mind. Bowen plays Will's home, Palace away, Everton home, Brent for the way. Nice run of four fixtures for a team that definitely have something to play for in Premier League Survival. Can they relegate Tottenham? It's going to be a very interesting run in. Danny Welbeck is on the radar as well because he's flying and Brightner likely to have a double gaming 33. I'll probably continue to swerve Joe Pedro even though he's got high ownership. I think he's a fine pick.
18But again, I'm chasing. So, you know, having, having all the highly on players is not going to do me much good. So I'm going to probably stick to the plan of avoiding Joe Pedro. I've got Palmer. So, I mean, who wants two Chelsea attackers at the end of the day. Other options if I make a midfielder transfer. In Wemmo or Palmer could go for Harry Wilson's the obvious one. But then the Arsenal guys are pretty obvious as well. I've got a lack of Arsenal in my team. Sack of deck and race. Definitely in my thoughts. But I don't see myself making a sideways move from Wemmo to Kenya because we know what happens then. Kenya blanks two games in a row. And a Wemmo gets back to his best. And the only other one I've noticed down here is Florian Verts. And I should have mentioned Subosla as well. But again, not in a rush to increase my exposure to Liverpool assets. Thank you for listening folks. This was even shorter than I expected. But just a little 15 minute dose of FPL to get you through. Hopefully the next few days and next week or two. And I'll be back after the FA Cup games to preview things in more detail.
20Enjoy the break. And yeah, what else am I left to say? Blossom and oats. Yeah, patreon.com forward slash FPL general for more content. 21:22Monday or Tuesday. So, interesting to see the final shakeout of which teams will be playing in the World Cup. And I will be all over World Cup fantasy this year. I'll be looking forward to it. Usually, I would take a break. But this season's been a bit of a break for me. I have PLY. So, I'm still feeling good, feeling eager, feeling enthusiastic about fantasy games.
