BET+ Merges into Paramount+, Tyler Perry Partnership Continues

The 1,000 hours of original shows, movies and specials from BET Plus will now live on Paramount Plus starting in June. This ends BET Plus as a standalone app. The move comes after Paramount bought out Tyler Perry Studios 25% stake in BET Plus, valued at tens of millions of dollars. New leaders at Paramount, fresh off the Sky Dan's take over last August, want to combine services like Paramount Plus, BETP into one bigger, platform to cut costs and grow. Tyler Perry stays a close partner. His big deal with BET Media Group runs through 2028 and keeps him cranking out hundreds of episodes for the content. BET points subscribers face some changes. Those using the AppleGit discounts to switch to Paramount Plus, but expect to pay more around $9 a month for the basic plan or 14. Dollars for premium, up from BET Plus's $5.99 or $10.99.
