The Cincinnati Bengals entered the offseason needing serious help on defense, with gaps everywhere

from the line to the secondary.

They made some smart free agency moves, signing safety, Brian Cook, Ed Ruscher-Boyet-Mafy,

and defensive tackle Jonathan Allen to shore things upright.

the unit weaker than last season overall.

With free agency winding down, the Bengals are shifting focus to the upcoming NFL draft

to find more talent.

Earlier this month, they met with South Carolina defensive back Jaylon Kilgore at his

pro day.

The versatile player, who shifted from safety to cornerback this year, impressed Scouts

and his climbing draft boards toward the third or fourth round.

Kilgore stands out as a strong run defender who tackles well in open space, sheds blocks

effectively, and thrives in the slot.

His athleticism shines with top speed and burst, plus he's a proven ball-hawk with eight

college interceptions.

He's got official visits lined up with several teams, and for Cincinnati, grabbing him later

in the draft, could pair perfectly with an early pick on.

The line, building a tougher secondary without reaching too high.
