A former below deck deck hand from season 3 is suing NBC Universal and the show's producers. Emil Cote claims they created a toxic work environment full of harassment and unsafe situations just to boost ratings. He says the manipulation started early and ruined his career. Producers allegedly pushed Cote into a romance with his castmate Rocky Dakota, even though he was not interested. They scheduled them to work together a lot, including late-night shifts alone and gave him alcohol to loosen him up. One time, a producer even fed him a pickup line on camera. After filming wrapped, Cote says the team edited footage to make him look bad and used his image without permission. He claims they tried to silence him when he complained, leading to lost job opportunities in yachting. The lawsuit, filed in New York last October, comes 10 years after the show due to fresh evidence.

1:01Cote wants between $6.33 million and $850 million in damages, including over $123 million for future earnings and $10 million for emotional distress. NBC Universal has not commented on the case.
