Becton's Eagles Exit, Chargers' Loss: OL Shuffle

0:00For the NFL, it's March 4th and here's what's going on. The Los Angeles Chargers released offensive lineman Meki Bechtin after one tough season. The team made it official on March 4th, 2026, cutting him along with a couple other players. Bechtin had signed a two-year deal worth $20 million, but things didn't work out on the West Coast. Earlier this year, Bechtin shone with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2024. He paved the way for Seikwam Barkley's NFL record of 2,504 rushing yards and their Super Bowl win. His power blocking was key to that dominating ground game. In Philadelphia last year, though, Tyler Steen stepped in at RyGuard and held his own. Eagles' general manager, Howie Roseman, expressed confidence in Steen, and the line's young talent during a recent interview. Four pro-bowl players are returning, which has everyone excited. Meanwhile, a reunion with the Eagles looks unlikely. The team shifted away from their old offensive line coach and adopted an outside-zone scheme that doesn't suit Bechtin's power style.
