Bears Sign Safety Coby Bryant

They've agreed to terms on a $3-year $40 million contract with safety, Kobe Bryant from the Seattle Seahawks. Both to Kwan, Briskar, and Kevin Byard are entering free agency, leaving a big gap at safety for the Bears. This move brings in fresh talent instead of resigning their own guys. Bryant has shown over the last two seasons, picking off seven passes and holding quarterbacks to a 54.0 pass rating when targeted, in coverage. At about $13.3 million per year, the deal fits well for a player of his caliber. It addresses a critical need right away for Chicago's secondary. The Bears are just getting started this off season.
