Bears Add Depth to D-Line with James Lynch Signing

About this episode

The Chicago Bears bolster their defensive line with the signing of James Lynch, a 27-year-old defensive tackle from Baylor University. Despite a knee injury that sidelined him in 2023, Lynch has played in 17 games each of the past two seasons, contributing 98 tackles, 7 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, and other key plays. This move, similar to their recent Kentavius Street signing, wont impact their NFL Draft plans.

This is Corey with the story with NFL News today, powered by the Daily News Now. Subscribe for daily updates on your team. The Chicago Bears are adding some depth to their defensive line by signing 27-year-old defensive tackle, James Lynch. Lynch stands 6'4 and weighs 295 pounds. He came out of Baylor University and was a 4th round draft pick by the Minnesota Vikings back in 2020. He spent time with the Vikings until 2024, but sat out the entire 2023 season with a knee injury. The team waved him just before that year started, and the Tennessee Titans quickly picked him up for their practice squad. From there, Lynch got elevated for the Titans, weak one game right here in Chicago, then made their active roster. He played in all 17 games that season, and all 17 the next year too. For his five-year career, he has four starts in 71 games with 98 tackles, 7 tackles for loss, 3 and a half sacks, and a few other key plays.

This is a low-depth chart move that mirrors their recent contagious street signing and won't shake up their NFL draft plans. This episode is supported by our sponsor, C Details in the description.
