Bear Suit Scammers Jailed, Insurance Rates Spared

Three guys in Los Angeles just got slapped with jail time for pulling off one of the dumbest insurance scams ever staging fake bear attacks on their luxury rides. They claimed a bear trashed a 2010 Rolls Royce ghost and two Mercedes models, a 2015 G63 AMG and a 2022 E350. But cops saw right through the video, they sent their insurers, spotting it was just a dude in a bear suit. The California Department of Insurance launched Operation Bear Claw after one company smelled fraud. Investigators dubbed Beeper and found two more bogus claims from the same spot and date. They even had a biologist from Fish and Wildlife checked the footage, who confirmed no real bear was involved. Just the human playing dress up. People are roasting this hard online, calling the crew total clowns for thinking a costume bear would fool anyone. Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara says, scams like this jack up rates for all of us and no wild plot is too crazy to bust.

Alphia Zuckerman, 39, Rubin Tamrazian, 26, and Vahey Maracanian, 32, all copped pleased to felony fraud. Each got 180 days in jail via weekend work plus two years probation. A fourth dude, Ararat Churkinian, 39, faces cord in September, 2026. This very bad idea shows fraudsters keep dreaming of flops, but investigators stay one step ahead keeping our premiums in check.
