In Newport, the branch at 100 Bellevue Avenue will shift to 181 Bellevue Avenue. Over in Wakefield, the office at 121 Old Tower Road heads to 290 Main Street, and in Middletown, 132 East Main Road will merge into 165 East Main Road. All three closures are set for March 27th, 2026 under Berkshire Bank and Bank Road Island, both divisions of Began Bank and Trust. Customers can't expect the same personalized service from the updated spots just down the road. This comes as the bank highlights its digital tools like online banking, bill pay, and mobile transfers to help folks manage money on the go. No word yet on customer pushback, but the focus stays on community ties.
