Baseball Team Arrested for Car Vandalism

0:00Birmingham's story is making news on March 10th. Police in Southside Alabama arrested five suspects last Friday night for throwing water-filled bottles at oncoming cars. The incidents happened around Pilgrim's rest road, and officers linked them to similar attacks investigated for months across the county. A victim's description of the suspect vehicle allowed police to track it down quickly. They confirmed the group's involvement in three attacks that same night, plus earlier cases that damaged multiple vehicles. Car owners face serious repairs, including broken windshields, dented bodies, and shattered mirrors. Costs ran into hundreds, or even thousands of dollars per vehicle, far beyond any harmless prank. Authorities collaborated with police in Glinco and Rainbow City to piece together the pattern. All five turned out to be members of the Gadsden State Baseball team. Each suspect now faces three counts of third degree criminal mischief and three counts of reckless endangerment.
