I think to, you know, if you're not that interested, I think after you hear this information, you will be interested. Have you ever heard of the King of Pop? The King of Pop. Yeah. Michael, Michael Jackson. Well, I want to tell you right now. He does not go by the King of Pop anymore. He's now known as the Prince of Punk. The Prince of Punk. And he's the, uh, he's in the band that we're working with. Really? Yeah. Michael Jackson. Well, he doesn't go by that name anymore. Well, what name does he go by? Michael Jackson. Well, uh, uh, this I find Michael Jackson, the Michael Jackson. Yes, but he he's no longer known as Michael Jackson. What's he known as? Mike Jackal. Mike Jackal. Yeah. I find that that's shocking to me. And he now is what in?

3:24Well, he's totally punk now. He's totally punk. Yeah. Really? Yeah. He, uh, he got totally turned on the punk a few months ago. He was actually suing a band, uh, out in California that was covering 30 Diana. Okay. They're called toilet dog. Uh-huh. And he just fell in love with the band's energy and their drive. Okay. And he liked him so much. He joined the band. Michael Jackson joined. Please. Mike Jackal. Mike. Respect to this Prince of Punk. He's the print. Who came up with that? Oh, he did. He now is called the Prince of Punk. Michael Jackson. Well, yeah. I mean, well, he, you know, he's always been. He's always been punk in his own way. Uh-huh. Yeah. Really? Well, look at, you know, he's a thriller. You know, that's kind of the ultimate punk album. The thriller is the ultimate punk album. Wait, wait, wait, wait. You're going to tell me that thriller wasn't the ultimate punk album. An album that encompassed musical styles as divergent as hip hop, R&D, hard rock, and danceable soul.

4:43Am I going to tell you that it's what, what, what was your claim for it? The ultimate punk album. Uh, yeah, I will, I will definitely tell you that that's not the ultimate punk album. Well, it sounds like I'm talking to someone that doesn't really know what they're talking about. And, uh, you know, Mike was always aware of punk, but I guess he just never really heard the good stuff. Uh-huh. He's totally punk now. He's eating breathing, sleeping punk for the last two months. He's a student of it now. Really? Like what, what kind of stuff? Oh, all kinds of stuff. You know, Michael Jackson. What's there? Come on. You're going to lose this book and get to keep referring to him as that. As Mike. Mike Jackal. Mike Jackal. Yeah. And when, when did this come about? This name change? Oh, two months ago. And now he's just Mike Jackal. Mike Jackal. Uh-huh. He's pure punk. Okay. Yeah. Okay. So, so you were saying that he, uh,

5:44yeah. Yeah. Well, he, you know, he's totally, he's totally immersed in punk. He's, uh, you know, he's, he's not reading all the, uh, all the spiritual books that he was reading before. Now he's, he's immersed himself in, uh, various books that have come out recently, uh, a book called, uh, We Got The Neutron Bomb about the LA punk scene, uh, American Hardcore, which is about, I guess, uh, American punk rock. And a book called our band could be your life. And, uh, he, he was so influenced by that book that, uh, he can't wait to get out there and hit the road in that van. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. I, the name, the name, the book, the, the, the, that is just, uh, unbelievable that he would be a fan of. We got the neutron bomb. Well, yeah. I mean, hey, he's punk. What can I say? I mean, like I said, he's, he's rare and to hit the road in that, that van. Uh-huh. He's gonna be driving just like, uh, the guys in Dead Kennedy.

6:46In what, what, what was that? He, he's gonna drive that van just like the guys did in, uh, in Dead Kennedy. Dead Kennedy? You mean the, the dead- Wait, you never heard of Dead Kennedy? No, I, I, you know, no, I never have heard of Dead Kennedy. Well, it sounds like someone doesn't deserve to have a radio show. Well, everyone knows about Dead Kennedy. Can I ask you a question? Sure. Have you ever heard of the Dead Kennedys? I've heard of Dead Kennedy. And what, tell me about Dead Kennedy, if you would. Well, I know that, uh, they're the ultimate, uh, punk band. Uh-huh. The ultimate punk band. Now, can I, can I ask you about the actual band that, that he is in? What, what, what was the name of the band? Well, they were called toilet dog. Yeah. But Mike, uh, didn't think that that was punk enough. He wanted a name that was basically just, just more punk. Mm-hmm. Then toilet dog.

7:46Yeah. I could see how he didn't think that was punk enough. Yeah. Uh-huh. But he, uh, he managed to get, he, what is the name now? Punk. Of the band. Punk. Punk? Yeah. Is what? Punk is a musical style. Well, it's also the name of the greatest new punk band. Uh-huh. They're called punk. Yeah, you got it. They're just called punk, though. And now he... It says it all, don't you think? So Michael Jackson. Come on, guy. Come on. Show some respect. To who? The Prince of Punk? Yeah. Say his name. Mike? Michael? No. Mike? Yes. You're saying he goes by now? Yeah. So Mike Jackal. You want me to show respect to Mike Jackal? Yeah. Who is the Prince of Punk? You've got it. And you're getting, you're getting the hang of this, finally. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

8:47So he now sings for a punk band. Well, no. He doesn't sing. He's the bass player. Roger's the singer. Uh-huh. So Mike does sing on the B side of the single that's coming out there. That... This is just, uh... This is just nuts. See, you mean he has a... Hello. Hold on one second. We just had a little technical difficulty. So, um... He has a single... Yeah. Coming out. Yeah. I mean, there... There are three other guys. Oh, you might see here, Roger. He's great. And now... Now, what... Who pray tell is, uh... Is this, like, epic records? Is now in the punk business? A label based out of... The... Washington DC area, uh, they're called Discord. No. Yeah. Discord records. Discord records. Right. Is putting out a band... This... What is it called? A band called punk. Yeah. That's... That happens to feature Michael Jackson. Or Ma... I hear you say that name one more time. Yeah? What? You're not going to get the booking. Okay. If... Mike... The artist formerly known as...

10:47Michael Jackson... No, no. He doesn't work that way. You call him by his name. Mike Jackal. Yes. Okay. So we have Mike Jackal. The former... Who... Who... To people who might have known him as... Michael Jackson. But not anymore. Right, right, right. And now he... He has an actual single coming out... On... Discord records. Yeah. Yeah, actually... I mean, he's basically putting out... Because... He actually bought the label last week. He bought Discord records. Yeah. One of the most... A label that just is just... A complete integrity. And still is. He bought... He actually bought a label owned by Ian McKay and Jeff Nelson. Yeah, I think he paid... Both those kids like 25 million each, yeah. To walk away. To walk away from Discord records. Yeah.

11:47So now he owns the... He owns Discord records. Michael Jackson. Yeah, he's going to... He's going to... Mike... Mike Jackal. Yeah, Mike Jackal. He's talking about re-issuing some stuff. Yeah, some things. I'm not sure what they are. Something called... Faith. Boyed. Something like that. I think he wants to put that out. Uh-huh. Like the split album? I... I guess, though. I don't know. Something like that. It sounds like you don't know a whole lot about punk if you don't mind me asking, sir. Oh. I don't know where you get that from. I'm... I'm punker than you are, son. You're punker than I am. Yeah. And you... He's putting out that faith void record. Well, yeah. I mean, he's into it. He loves it. Uh-huh. He loves it. Now, like, what kind of stuff does he listen to? Oh, jeez. Well, like I said, you know, he actually listens to a lot of the bands that he's in negotiations

12:47with right now to reform for this big tour he's going on. Okay. So, he's putting together a big punk tour. Yeah. Like, I know... Like, he's totally in the dead Kennedy. Okay. They're getting... Actually, they're already back together. They're singer, I guess, has been a little stubborn. And I actually have a meeting with him tomorrow to try to get him back in the fold. His name is J-J-Lo. And I'll be talking to him tomorrow. The singer of... Of dead Kennedy, yeah. Okay. His name is what? J-J-Lo. Something like that, yeah. J-Lo. You like Jennifer Lopez? J-Lo? No. No. I did have... I had lunch with her about a week ago. That's great. She's really good. So, that's... So, you had lunch with Jennifer Lopez? Yeah. If you don't want me... Like, side-tracking here from your big sales pitch. Like, who are the artists that you are usually involved with?

13:49Oh, well, over the last five years or so, she's a share. Cindy Lauper, Meg Ryan, Eric Westow, Mary Hart, people like that, yeah. And now you're in the punk business. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Makes sense, doesn't it? I'm with the greatest punk musician of all time right now. And who is that? Mike Jackal. Now, let's go back to this J-Lo thing. Yeah. You... The singer of this band that you call who? Uh... His name is J... J-Lo... The uh... Viapra. Hold on. You don't mean J-Lo? J-Lo? Biapra. Oh, well, I guess my assistant Dawn wrote that down directly here. Yeah. But spelled again? J-Lo. Like... Like the food? Yeah, like the food.

14:51Um... Well, I guess it takes all kinds in the punk. So I'll... Yeah, I'll be talking to him about it. Actually, that's good to know. So I don't embarrass myself tomorrow. Thanks for that tip. They're going to have some big, big punk jam sessions at the end. And he's really excited about jamming with the kids from Black Flags. Uh-huh. With Black Flags. Yeah. I'm sure he's really into getting up there with Black Flags. Oh, he's into it. Oh, we're also looking at... Actually, the one band that is definitely signed on is a band called Tassel. They're going to be out there punking it out with Tasselike. What is Tassel?

15:51I don't know. See, I know punk. I know this might be hard for you to believe that you're such a big punk fan, right? For life, yeah. Yeah, for life. So I guess it's hard for you to understand how Tassel might... You know, me never hearing of them. Maybe I guess you could say, a Black Flags went up when you said that. Well, you know, I guess... I don't know. I'm surprised that a guy that has a radio program doesn't really know who Tassel is. Now, I'm not a... Tassel, can you spell it for me? Yes. It's a T-S-O-L. Tassel? No. Well, I think you just said it correctly. T-S-O-L. It's kind of what the... The band is calling. I mean, you're supposed to be... What did you call yourself, more punk than me?

16:53I'm punker than you, and Mike is punker than both of us. Yeah, he's got a shorthand right now that has some remones on it. Wow. He must really be punk, then. He's in a for life. How old are you, sir? I'm 52 years punk. You're 52 years punk. And would you also be 52 years old? I look at it either way, you know? That's the life of the life. So this tour that's coming up... Yeah. Michael Jackson, I know you don't want me to say... He is the type of artist that usually creates a lot of pandemonium. Oh, sure. When he tours. Yeah. So he now, though, you're telling me, is this going to go on a pretty standard punk tour? Well, yeah. I mean, well, you know, obviously because of Mike's popularity, there's got to be some... some concessions that make it a little less punk than he would like.

17:53Like what? Well, there has to be two security guards with him at all times. So when they're on the tour, when they're in the van and everything, he's going to... You know, I guess having... Well, that must be something he's used to by now. I guess it's the kind of thing that when he gets, you know, out there and is doing his thing on stage, it's kind of like a nice break from having these two guys tailing you all the time. Oh, no. They're up on stage with him, too. With two security guys. Yeah. But, you know, if it's not going to interfere with the show, you know, he's... Mike's committed to punk and he's not going to let anything that would appear to be unpunk happen. I'm sure he wouldn't, yeah. And he's also looking forward to meeting the kids and, you know, killing the fat with them and hanging out with them at the four seasons after the show. You're the four seasons, the hotel? Yeah. That's not exactly the most punk establishment going, I mean...

18:57Well, for Mike it is, you know, the old Mike, you know, he would be... He'd buy a mansion whenever he had a tour stop. He'd come into town and he'd buy a mansion and, you know, set up camp there for a few days. But now, you know, he's going low budget. He's going... He's going what they call Icono. And he'll be at the four seasons. And, you know, it's going to be just a punk... Punk CS, the pretty much every night. And the four... I'm sure the four seasons... Have you guys let the four seasons know how punk you guys are and that they can be ready for just a full-on punk fiesta, like you said? Oh, I think they'll be ready. And if they're not, you know, we'll just have to make amends when we check out. In what way, make amends? Oh, you know, just pay for any damage that might be incurred by the kids that we've hired to break stuff.

19:57You actually hire kids to break stuff in the room? Yeah. Now, how... Well, that's punk. Yeah, I guess it's punk to smash up the four seasons. Well, Mike's pretty. Mike sure isn't going to do it. Uh-huh. Mike, yeah, I can see how Mike wouldn't... Well, if he's so punk, why isn't he going to do it? Oh, you know, after a show... Well, I'll be honest. Yeah. He gets off on watching other people do it. Okay, he likes to just kind of... Yeah. Just watch the other people... Oh, he gets into it. I mean, that's punk. Smash and stuff and, you know... Yeah, it sounds like he's really in touch with his punk roots, you know. Can you tell me... I'm curious what this band sounds like. Well, it's pure punk. This band is pure punk.

20:57Yeah. Well, you don't like, you know, song content lines, you know. There's some really heavy stuff that they're talking about. Rodgers written some great stuff. Uh-huh. Fill the old bass player. He had a hand in some of the songs. So he's actually... Mike's taken over for him right now. Okay. Yeah. So Mike is actually filling in for this... Their former... Exactly. Yeah. Yeah, fill. Uh-huh. Yeah. So they're like... I mean, I know this might... This probably won't come as a shock for you being that you are so punk. Yeah. But you know that there are different strains of punk music. I do know that Mr. Smarty pants. They actually play... Some of the songs are what I would categorize. It's just, you know, straight up street punk. And they've also got some songs in the vein that they refer to as...

21:58You know, humor core. I don't know if you've ever heard of that. Yes, I have, actually. So I have a couple of songs on a single one called I Hate Alley McBeal, which is hilarious. Now did Mike have a hand in writing that? Yes, he did. And he also had a hand in writing a song that's on the... On the beef side of it called Your Underrues Are Showing. These are the songs that... For anybody who's just joining us now, I just want to... The... Your name again is... Barry Levitts. Barry Levitts, you work as a representative of... Yeah. Michael Jackson, who now... I mean, he was actually doing a version of it the other day at practice. And I tell you, those guys were talking about how great it was and that it sounded like Circle Jerk. Like Circle Jerk, yeah. Now, is he going to do any of the old songs in this band punk? He... Well, you know, they'll do dirty Diana because that's what toilet dog was famous for, you know, in parts of California there. So, I think they'll do that. He doesn't want to sing it, though, because it's...

27:09You know, this is his new thing to wear up for him. He doesn't want to really be tied to the past. So, the singer of this band sings it. Yeah, but Mike does every once in a while break out the old moonwalk. He breaks out the actual moonwalk. You should see him. He's got that little white base and he... He, uh, during the middle of... What kind of base does he play? Oh, it's one of those little tiny ones. It does... It looks like it's like a stick. It's like a Steinberger? That kind? I guess that's what it's called, something like that, yeah. Like the tiny body? Yeah, exactly. Yeah, it looks almost like a white baseball bat. I mean, that is really not the most punk of bases. Oh, I think it is. I mean, it's so... It's so not punk that it's punk. It's so not punk that it's punk, huh? Yeah, I think it was actually your main.

28:09It's actually his brother Jimmy. Yeah, I think so. Yeah. Okay. Now, when is this... What does this tour get underway? The tour actually starts... That's why I'm calling you. It starts next Tuesday, which is when I want the band to come on your show. To kick it off. Yeah. Okay. Yeah, they're playing... You'll excuse me. I was so overwhelmed by the things you're telling me. I kind of lost sight of the why of this... The why of why you're doing it? No, of why you called me. Oh, oh, right, right. 29:12So, this band punk, featuring Mike Jack, like formerly known as Michael Jackson, are playing at the loop lounge. Yeah, and it says here that they're punk are playing with two bands who are of some local note. It gains car and adrenaline OD. Yeah, they're both local bands. So, who headlines that bill? Oh, punk it. Okay. Yeah, I guess those guys are getting back together. Mike actually apparently made it worth both those bands while to get back together for the show. Who are some of Mike's, if you don't want me asking, like, who would you consider? I know you named the Dead Kennedy, Black Flag. Yeah. There's other punk heroes. Oh, jeez. He likes the... Like the stuff you hear him playing. Oh, you know, I don't know the names of it all,

30:13but I know... Actor... An actor out in Los Angeles. Uh-huh. Lee... Lee Ving. Okay. He had a band at one point, I guess. Yes. You know, Mike's show me with him. Okay. Yeah. So, you know, he likes that band. And what else? You know, sex pistols, I think he likes. Mm-hmm. Ramones. He's a big fan of... Minutemen. Really? Yeah, he actually has taken a few lessons from their bass player. Mike Wat. I think so, yeah. Really? He actually has taken bass lessons from Mike Wat. Yeah. Now, what if you don't mind me asking me what does Mike Wat get for a bass lesson? Oh, I don't really want to get into that. Just humor me.

31:13$50,000. For how long? An hour. An hour. Yeah. $50,000 for an hour. Yeah. Not been... And he gets the chopper ride to the helicopter comes and picks him up down in, I believe it's San Pedro. Uh-huh. It takes him to the Neverland Ranch. Exactly, yeah. Oh, I also want to tell you about something else. It's coming after the tour. Yeah. Mike is going to the opening a punk amusement park. Okay. Yeah. Where will that be? It'll be... I believe in Chatsworth area outside of LA. Okay. And he just came up with this great idea today that I think is wonderful. Uh-huh. It's a roller coaster called The Frasher. And that's like a punk roller coaster. It's a player. It's going to play a punk. And you'll ride the roller coaster, yeah. Now, do you like punk? Oh, I love it. I live it. Who is your favorite punk? Oh, geez.

32:13I love it all. Uh-huh. I'm sure... Your favorite is probably punk. Oh, I love all the groups that are punk. Yeah. Is your favorite the band punk? I didn't want to have to say it, but... You said it for me. I didn't want to sound like I was talking out of my, uh, you know, out of my brief. Okay. So, uh... So we have... We can look forward to the single coming out on Discord. You know, it doesn't sound like you're a punk, though. Sounds like you're a poser. What... Where'd you learn that? Well... I have my sources. And actually, I didn't actually want to call you. I was told by my assistant that... Someone named Terry T. was the one to contact him. That she's the real punk. Like Mike and I, yeah. And that you are, in fact, a poser. But they need to show next Tuesday. So I ended up with you. Okay. Wow. I appreciate the opportunity.

33:13Now, uh... You know, I'm actually getting a tattoo tomorrow. Really? Yeah. Of what? It says punk for life. It says punk for life. Yeah. I'm also going to get a stencil on my beamer. Wow. You really are living the... Hey. You've made a commitment to it. We are committed. Mike and I are committed. I need to know from you. Are you committed to having punk on your show next Tuesday? Absolutely. Okay. I'm going to do it then. Uh-huh. Now... Now, uh... I guess the band that we will just kind of load in. Oh, well. Yeah, Michael pull up, I guess, probably around eight o'clock or so, yeah. In the van. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. So this is exciting. I'm actually going to have Michael Jackson on the show. Oh, you're going to love it. He's, uh... You know, I mean... It isn't a Michael Jackson that you have grown up with, though. Uh-huh. Yeah, he's got an edge now.
