A female bald eagle got a second chance at freedom this Friday morning after getting tangled in fishing line on the Hall River. Offices from the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission boated more than seven miles down river near the Bee Every Jordan Dam to reach her and, by the time they got there, she was totally wiped out from the struggle. They rushed her straight to the American Wildlife Refuge, a local non-profit spot for re-having wild animals, for a full checkup and some TLC. This rescue highlights a big issue on our waterways, fishing line and tackle left behind can trap birds and other critters so officials are urging. Everyone to pack it out properly every time. She's on the men now and should be soaring free again in just a week or two, reminding us how small habits keep our wildlife thriving. From your city, powered by AI, this is Durham News Today.
