Badgers' Late Surge, New Schemes for 2026

0:00On March 30th, Wisconsin Badgers wrapped up their 2025 season with a 4-8 record, falling short of expectations, but ending on, a high note with two straight wins that sparked some real optimism for 20-26. The offense continued to struggle big time, ranking 134th nationally in yards per game, while the defense found its groove late, cracking the top 20 in Sacrate, top 25 in yards allowed, and top 15 against the run. The defensive coordinator Mike Tressel pointed out the pain points, like being just average stopping teams on third downs in dead last enforcing, turnovers at 134th, issues that held them back from the previous year too. Now with fresh faces on the roster, Tressel is dialing in on building ball awareness and dominating third and long situations through simple, aggressive schemes that let players react fast without overthinking. Those late wins show the potentials there, and if they nail turnovers and third downs, the Badgers could flip the script and compete at a higher.
