Back in the day. Back in the days brought to you by Sam Burr-Cindler. All right, so what happened 161 years ago in 1865, the Civil War ended. Confederate General Robert E. Lee surrendered to Union General, at least he's that's Grant. And that all happened in Virginia. And I think it happened in a place where my brother has taken me there before. So there you go, 64 years ago in 1962, Rita Moreno. Rita Moreno. Rita Moreno. Mm-hmm. One best supporting actress for West Side Story. Yeah, she did. Which was the year's best picture. What's the japping in that? Such a good movie. Yeah. A lot of snaps. I mean, it's a Broadway play, but. Am I right? I believe. Do you watch West Side Story? I have musicals. I have, and I do. You watch West Side Story? I think so. Look at you. Did you tell me in a production of West Side Story back in school, no? I think we did have to watch it in school, though. Yeah. 42 years ago in 1984, the 56 Academy Awards. Irene Cara's Flash Dance.
What a feeling from the movie wins the Oscar. I never saw Flash Dance. Either way, I mean, I have clips, but. I have to stop for a second, because my Irene Cara is from fame. Well, I was confused into movies. Yeah, me too. My mom took me to see fame, wound up spending a lot of time doing this to my face. I was like, you just do. Your quality control is not good, lady. No, not a lot. I did. No, I did perform in. You did? I did. Fam. Of course he did. That's so good. Did your mom take you to see? Call me Misty or Clint Eastwood? Yeah. Clint Eastwood. That's what Misty for me. The woman was crazy. Hey, that's why you wanted to be a radio. For sure. Hey, I'm going after that. I'll be the DJ. I'll show you. Mom, why don't you have any other movie friends? I'm sick. That lady stalking Clint Eastwood. I'll fix her wagon. She's going to stalk me. I'm going into radio. I can't believe that the ticket person, like collecting the tickets wasn't like. I don't think this is appropriate for her. It was a different time. Chelsea.
It's a different time. What else? 21 years ago in 2005 King Charles married Camilla Parker Bulls, they finally had their love together. I mean, they were. They were meant to be together. They were meant to be. They were meant to be. Yeah. It lasted a long time. 17 years ago in 2009, Parks and Recs premiered on NBC, it ran for seven seats. That is so weird that that's back in the day. That's what I'm doing right now. I'm watching Parks and Rec. Is it funny? It's very funny. Yeah. Well, then finding out the Aubrey Plaza is pregnant. I saw pictures of it yesterday. I was laughing so hard yesterday that I almost died. I'm not kidding. From that show? Yeah. And Warren came back there and he goes, what is going on? And I said, and I showed him, he's not connected, right? He almost fell down. He almost fell down from laughing. There was just a scene in Parks and Rec. Really? Yeah. And honestly, we couldn't breathe. You got me wanting to see it now. We went, I see Dearborn Detroit. It's time for Hollywood Minute. Chelsea has it this time around. Brought to you by our friends at Lego Land Discovery Center.
Visit them in Auburn Hills. Oprah Winfrey made a surprise visit to the late show with Stephen Colbert, turning the tables by actually asking Stephen about his feelings regarding the show's impending. And she was basically the one that was interviewing him instead of the other way around. The interview was her fourth appearance on the show. The last show was going to be on May 21st. Isn't it weird that like, I mean, it's, I always wonder how things work like that. How the network is like, it's got Oprah, it's got all these guest people are celebrating the guy and you're still, you're still taking them off the air. I know. Wow. James Gunn's sequel, Man of Tomorrow, going to be released on July 9th, 2027 with filming schedule to begin in April of this year. Oh, yeah, I think they're going to go back to Cleveland, too. What's that? Really? What's Man of Tomorrow? It's a sequel to Superman. Really? The film's going to see David Corn sweat return as Superman, Nicholas Hole as Lex Luthor, who will team up against Villain Brainiac portrayed by Lars Ydenger. Okay.
Yeah. Man, if they're going to be back in Cleveland, don't you think you should maybe do like a little drive by? Try. Yeah, you know, James Gunn has not taken the J-Tower's bait. So I don't know. Oh. I mean, you really laid it on thick. I really do. Yeah. Yeah. Craig Melvin accidentally revealed during a live segment on today that co-host Jenna Bush Hagar is going to have a cameo on the upcoming Devil Wars Prada 2. Now Savannah Guthrie said that Craig cannot be trusted with sensitive information on the air. El Roker said, well, the information is now public. Jenna was stunned when he said it because she's like, this is a secret. You know, like, what are you doing? I've been there, Craig. I've been there. The Devil Wars Prada 2 is going to be released in theaters on May 1st. I just saw a preview yesterday, whenever I was watching in the background. I still can't stop when you said I laid it on thick. You did. I mean, you, I thought for sure you were going to be best friends forever. I mean, you pulled out all the stuff. I know.
I know. I'm sorry. Go ahead. And finally, Gene Smart had a tougher time filming season three of Hacks than she had previously let on. So in a new interview with Variety, back in 2023, she had started experiencing fatigue, chest pressure during filming. She thought she was just out of shape, turns out she needed triple bypass surgery. Oh my God. Yes. So thankfully, she's alive, she's doing well. But yeah, kind of crazy. Wow. TV tonight, we have a lot on her SVU and the Hunting Party. Chelsea, thanks so much. Good morning from 100.3 WNIC with J. Towers, Allison, Chelsea, we still have a big celebrity coming to town today that you should know about. That's exciting. And I just almost had a stroke right there. Okay. Also, Allison's bubble is next. I'm obsessed with Kentucky right now. I found another little fun fact about Kentucky that cracks me up. Is your Kentucky, my taxes? Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. Let's go Kentucky fire there.
I keep reading things about Kentucky that make me giggle today in this current year, in 20, just continues. Every elected official in Kentucky has to take an oath that they've never been in a duel. That's all. Wow. You have to take it. You have to swear. You have never participated in a duel and if you have been in a duel, then you can't get elected. I don't think you can. Dual behaviors. Acceptable anymore. I'm sorry. You do a duel. What are your kids? You're just in cap guns. I don't know. No. You remember cap guns? I do. They don't make those anymore. Do they? And the little strip would stick out of the gun. There's that more. Remember, there was the round one. They were red. And they actually fit in the barrel. Right. Just the thought by parents are like, no, you can't have a cap gun. Right. But you're right about the paper ones. So you'd hit it and you'd move it and let's make guns as realistic for kids as we can. Yeah. They do still make them. You can get them on Amazon right now. All right.
