0:00A 29-year-old man from Abon faces serious new charges for allegedly sexually assaulting kids at a local daycare. Jan Carlos Barrios, Otero, got arrested back on April 1st for 4th degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a child after touching A. 4-year-old boy during nap time at Bright Path Early Learning Center. He's been held on a $1 million bond ever since. His lawyer says four more arrest warrants drop today in Lichfield Superior Court, piling on counts from six incidents with five young victims, all. Under 13, that includes aggravated sexual assault charges, too, based on police reports. Parents are reeling, with 50 to 60 families now teaming up with lawyers to check if their kids were harmed. At least one has already sued over abuse claims, and the whole thing forced the Abon Bright Path location to shut down for good on May 22nd. State agencies jumped in quick, the Office of Early Childhoods probing safety rules at the center, while the Department of Children and Families digs, into abuse reports.

1:02The company says they're fully cooperating with cops and kicked off their own outside review. Police urge any wary parents to hit up Avan detectives at Area Code 860-409-4230 or the Child Abuse. Investigation team at 860-489-3391. This case keeps unfolding, stay tuned for updates. Answer update from Hartford News today, powered by AI.
