Hey, everybody. Welcome back to fan hockey show on the sports and at radio network sports and at 360. And wherever you get your podcasts, Matt Marquez, Mike Fudah here with you. Want to get your hands on a pair of tickets to Blue J's opening night? Rodgers is giving away 500 tickets through a first come first serve basis to Rodgers customers at a surprise location on Friday morning. Look out for details on Rodgers Instagram at 7 a.m. Eastern. Good luck. Are you going? Opening night. Yep. I am against the vaunted athletics of Sacramento law. I know. Is there both zero and zero? So I don't care who's bonded. Yeah, they got that center of fielder from Canada that can keep it in the park. Guns all Clark. Yeah, from Hamilton.

Yeah, he's pretty good. You just never know, Matt. He's good player. This is a ain't good. That guy ain't good. That guy ain't a good. That's more marker. Yeah, well, honestly, yeah, I'm supposed to go to the first two games. However, exciting, very exciting. But it is, it is this renewed because there are massive expectations. Very massive. He's right. Like last year at this time, it was a lot of you. He's gonna sign when we trade him. And now it's like we're finishing first in the East and we're one and at all. But hey, it's exciting. It's exciting. I'm excited to see that Cody's teeth. He looks like Dylan. He looks like a don't know. He looks like a the other guy in like the Cody Ponds. So he was there last night too. He looks like an ombre. He could look like he'd play in an old western. Yeah. You like, I like having guys like that on my team. He looks like a fun dude. And he actually said I can't wait

to be a part of this city for 10 years. So I just love when these guys come in because you're here all this now. It's going to be hard for the Leafs to get free agents, you know, and in the NBA, or they don't like going across in the border and the snow and then we got these blue jays guys coming in and just loving it. Well, I always come back winning helps. If I hear one more thing about the tax situation in Canada, I'm just like, they know that they make like 30 to 35% more because they all get paid in American dollars, right? Okay. All right. So I just wanted to make sure that we're all on the same page with that. Okay. You know what? Let's get to we got we got a couple calls here. Let's get to the first one. I think the first one is Louise in mountain. Hi guys, it's Louise in mountain. I'm just wondering what you guys think about all of these folks and broadcasters on your network, actually, thinking that you should tank to try and get the first pick. Because as far as I know, doesn't Boston get that pick? So why would we want it? Okay.

So just for clarity sake, that is top five protected that pick. And the leaf fan base wants it because they need it. Yeah. No, she's just, yeah, just so you can clear her life. If they finish in the bottom five, they're after the lottery after the lottery because technically, and I've heard that is the leafiest thing ever is to finish fourth or five and then lose it in the lottery. But it is top five protected in a sense that it would afford. And we start to talk about the professionals are really looking at these lists. I know our guy Jason Buchla. He'll be in tomorrow. He talks about the top five in a very special special not that there's not going to be some great players after that. But he talks about the top five being game changers. So yeah. And if it finishes in the outside, the Boston Bruins do get the pick. So hence this little mini winning streak is really just setting the Bruins up well for a good pick. Again, yes, let's not forget the Phil Kessel trade.

There was a couple that turned into Tyler Saygan and Dougie Hamilton. What's the other one? Well, I mean, oh, this most recent one for sure, Brandon. Oh, let's not forget a two carask for Andrew Raycroft. We love razor. A two carask ended up, you know, I'm pretty good for the Bruins. Yeah, yeah. It's okay. All right. Okay, let's get to, actually, we've got one more. Let's get to Brian and Toronto. Elliott was talking about depth pieces. Minor league players coming up. Look at the Dallas stars. They didn't have used it. Saygan, Ben, Douchein, Harley, Michelle, Ratton, and Rubehens. They've been using their depth pieces almost all season long like a lot of other teams. But watch how powerful they'll be when they're all together. That's coming soon. Chopper now. Chopper now. It's a great point, but that's the biggest difference. There's not, that's

the worst saying like right now. If you look at the Dallas stars, like the next manup thing, you look with Tampa Bayes and other group that you saw all these defensemen, NHL stars dropping down and good names coming up. They're like, who the heck's that? Oh, he's already good. Like, and then some of the people they had. So I mean, that's, that's no disrespect that you're exactly right. That's why Jim Nill is Jim Nill. And he was the one, along with his Joe McDonnell and his staff that basically stocked the cupboards for the Detroit Red Wings throughout their entire tenure. And no, not disrespect to Ken Holland, who was the GM, but it was Jim Nill, who was the personal guy and charged the amateur draft, which filled the shelves. And they've done the same thing in Dallas. That's why when you see someone like Wyatt Johnson come out of the second round and now look like a regular 40 goalscorer on a yearly basis. These guys pretty close, when you have that, it's just not a matter of picking up the phone and saying, I mean, they could pick up the phone to the Marley's and say, hey, bring up those guys, but they're in

those guys. No, they don't have, they don't have those guys down there. And that's, that's why you have to draft well, develop well. And it's not that they haven't, but when you just don't, when you haven't made any picks and you have few picks, you almost have to hit a home run on every pick. And they did with knives. But other than that, there's not so far been somebody a later round guy or a defenseman in particular that they've drafted and developed into that kind of, wow, I can't wait to see that guy get called up. It's been a while. And Dallas, we I think books would say Montreal's got a plethora of those guys. Yeah, look what the friggin senators are doing right now. I mean, yesterday, you brought it up. They brought up a lot of knocking, knocking, knocking, and these guys look like at a pretty critical time of the season I might add. And they're filling in exceptionally well. Yeah, they're doing all right. Yep. Okay, this is a long one. So bear with me here. Hello guys, it's Sudbury Dave. I'm 70 years old and have seen the Leafs win the cup three times my first live game that I got to watch.

Was the Leafs in the finals. I was six years old. I managed to step for the whole game in 67. I went to school after they won just gave it to Habs fan in Sudbury or Habs fan or at least fan with a spattering of Bruins fans because of Bobby or I hold myself responsible for the jinx since because of that day at school. He cursed them. How about this enough enough by you guys with the Leafs bashing, especially you Matt, you are turning Habs fans into big fans of your show. We like fans from across the league to like our show only. Okay. The Leafs should be trying to finish as close to the top 11 as possible. In case they don't win the lottery fifth is no good as if as someone behind them could win the lottery. They'd be knocked to sixth out. Go Leafs go. I'm a realist when it comes to the Toronto Maple Leafs when they play well. They get their flowers when they don't they don't and when I put the tombstone on them on January 26th. I was validated because this is a story that's been going on all season when they're good. They get their flowers. I don't think that I'm overly critical of them. I think I'm just the

right amount of critical. Would you like it to be okay? No, I'm throwing your neck of your shoulder out. No, I'm throwing it. You want to pat yourself on the back for your tombstone? No, but I'm just saying like there's your realist. But you do mention when you nail one, you mention a lot more than if you're off. I think we all should. So if you throw it a variety of things, you've thrown out more tombstones on the Undertaker. Can I tell you something? If I had as many hits as you had in the draft with two Stanley Cubs, buddy, I'd never shut up. That's the difference. You're supposed to be quiet. You're supposed to be quiet. Well, I guess, you know, not on this bench. I, you know, you're right. Maybe I should start. Can we start hanging that in the background? Just put it on the mark. Two times Stanley Cup champion, Mike Fuda. Look at all these players I dropped it. I would. It's a good one to talk to. I can't imagine. I'm going to have to go over the spelling. Those names are tough to get. But no, I think it's a good take. But I, again, that's not the way

in Maddie. I'm joking. You have your style. You like the tombstones and stuff I don't ever, and until I, that's just even in any sport until I've seen the asterisk, I'm not as realistic because I've seen so many teams come back from that. But you were, you you did not get caught up in the mini streak hype slash hype that the Leafs have put together. They are what they are. And they have been all year. Yeah. And don't get snowed by this little mini. Yeah, like enter strip. Yeah. No, no. Phil from London, Mike, can you expand on the times you as an attack or king tanked at the end of the season to improve your draft stock? If you see him on camera zero, zero, zero. And I will give you an actual perfect synetting because this was something and I'm going to probably piss off my owners and own sound never in Los Angeles. Like I had pro that wouldn't even cross the try tank and with Darryl Sutter. Yeah, you'll end up at the bottom of the ocean.

Do you have any discussion or at least in a field in however, yeah, you'll be in one of those. Yeah, in a bail. Yes, anyways, we born. You can put that in his book is we were we were playing in the last game of the season. And if we were to win the against the Windsor Spitfires who were an on playoff team. And if we were to win that game, we would get a much favoral appointment. Sorry, if we were to win the game, we were going to play the kitchen arrangers who are outstanding. And if we lost the game, we had a much more favorable first round opponent. And the owners came in and asked me to sit out certain players, just like they hear on TV and stuff. And this like we just held management. Yeah, rest our guys like sit out Bobby Ryan. And they sit out the boys, sit up, play the back up and stuff. And I went into talk to our coach because the owners asked me to. And we just both decided that's not going to happen. Was was that see the coach? Yeah. And I'm sure that would have went over well.

And we played our full team. One in a shootout. So we even we even grinded it out like more to the put. And then you know what happened, Matt? What's that? We went on and swept the kitchen arrangers. There you go. So it doesn't pay off. And I was like, is there even your opponent is never it's not if it's if it's something if you're sitting guys out and your opponent can't change, that's different, right? But if you're picking sitting guys out to get what you perceive to be a lesser opponent, it can really really backfire. It's just water for the other team. Just like these guys are literally trying to they think that little of us that they're throwing games to get us. Yeah, that is bulletin board material that you don't absolutely. I listen, I there's also this. Hey, Matty, somebody like let's just say hypothetically, you team white red team red. Mm hmm. Like if we were really you wouldn't tank.

Well, we don't get a favorable draft pick either. Okay. I'm on the team we would never take. Okay. No, here's I know because you got a you got a big weekend coming up Saturday night, beaten arena at nine o'clock. Don't you need a tank to meet to no, no chance. I'll have someone recorded for you. No chance. Go ahead. But I'm just sending you my tape. I'm coming tournament. If you've told me this list that's put by my Stanley Cup draft picks and you're going to send me a tape for your Sunday night beaten league. I just want to make sure that you know that I'm ready to get Poloogaz to get out of the funkeys in. Somebody has to. Oh my god. It was a minus five against Joe Thornton. Yep. But my my thing is is it'll always come back to when we've set it on this show. The guy as an organization, you can do everything in your power like trading away guys and doing all of these things and calling young guys up. Those guys are going to come. They want to play. You have to play the game. Yeah. They're going to play. So it's out of your control even if you want it to.

And usually if you do that, somebody gets the wrong guy gets hurt like something happens. It's just it's it's happens a little. I mean, the biggest embarrassment ever. I mean, I don't really watch it other than the Raptors because I love Matt Devlin and the group. But basketball is apparently just a far. This whatever tanking and load management and garbage. You've got kids that are spending thousands or dollars to wait for that one time. So and so comes in to play. You're the home. They're not there. They even crossed the border. Whereas and then there's players in the national hockey league that if you even suggest the idea of, hey, maybe you should rest. They'd have you your head on a stake. Yep. So yeah, I agree. We got to a couple more minutes here. So I want to get to this one. And then we're going to get to more. We got a couple of guests, but we'll we'll mix in some as we go. Hi guys. Love the show. How come more isn't being said about JT Miller's cross check breaking Shabbat's arm. It was a blatant cross check in the guys out over a month. Blaine from Calley, Alberta. Blaine, you're right.

But we don't we've talked so much about the Department of Safety because this was weird. There wasn't even a penalty. But that but feats that play. It's in that but that play happens on the ice a hundred times in a game. Like guys standing in front of the net get cross checked worth. It's where he got him. Well, and that's the thing because it's JT Miller. You wonder is that where he wanted to get him? And his immediate reaction was no. I didn't it was an accident, but I mean, I was shocked that there wasn't a penalty on the play. Sure. But you could tell right away. And that's why it was more surprised. There wasn't at least and maybe there was because that was a flicker night that I don't know whether the refs actually got together and had a discussion based on the reaction of Shabbat basically going to the bench and sprinting to the room because he knew he had a broken wrist. Yeah. But I just to me that type of play happens all over the ice. And that's what you got to be a result. But okay. And I agree with you, Matt. But I mean, if we're going to start calm, if guys, you know, get careless with their

stick and nick a guy, this is the same. I think this a cross check. Yeah. A hundred percent open to where it ends up in injury is the same carelessness of a stick. I'm not talking like we're throwing the book at the guy here. But if you, but if you could have been a penalty, it's like holding in the NFL. If you called a cross check every time it happens, like holding in the NFL, the game would never end because there's so much of it. Like it would take a real adjustment for some of these guys to be like, Oh, I can't do that anymore. Okay. What if every time a guy, it's not about it. It's not going to touch it. What if a play was injured every time someone held in the NA like, you know, I mean, there was an injury. No, I know there was a serious injury. No, but I'm just saying it's a play that happens all over the, it happened all the time. Yeah, we talk. Who has it? And they let fixed McKinnon on the four check. Just went in and you know, the check. But that's this is this is it. Like it's no, I get it. I don't want to call all the time, but that one was so that I thought it was going to at least have a little chitty chat on the, it didn't look as bad when I watched it. It was just like it was the placement player.

Louder the bench through his glove off and then took off off the ice. Like, yeah, you know, I think you might get together and say, Hey, boys, what, you just lost an arm? What happened? Well, they look like Sammy causes a little change, and it's a standard. No, he didn't, but it was pretty darn close. All right, we got to take a break. When we come back, the Colorado avalanche, well, they were on a three game losing streak. They go, that's hit the road, Jack, and then they win three in a row with the division in their sights and a playoff spot locked up. John Michael Lyle's avalanche analyst and former NHL defenseman joins us when we come back. It's a fan hockey show on the sports net radio network sports and at 360 and wherever you get your podcast back in a moment. The best blue J show out there, period. Blair Embarker, be sure to subscribe and download the show on apples, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, everybody, welcome back to fan hockey show on the sports net radio network sports

at 360 and wherever you get your podcast, Matt Marquez, Mike Fuda here with you. Please to be joined on the line as analyst for altitude TV is John Michael Lyle's. How are we doing today? I'm doing great. Thanks a lot for having me. Well, thanks for doing this. So I just saw something pop up on my phone here. So I had to ask you because so Tom Brady at 48 years old decided that he wanted to explore the idea of a comeback. You are younger than Tom Brady. What would it take for you? Oh, let's get Joe Resnik on the line. Oh, yeah, Joe, yeah, Joe would, Joe would love to negotiate that deal. I promise you, we had an alumni skate here in Denver yesterday and I was not overly impressive. I wasn't the worst, but I definitely wasn't the best. The guy that you should talk to is Milan Hadoop. This guy can still play that almost 50 years old. And I believe it is the 26th anniversary of his overtime goal

where he did the dive in the neutral zone and went swimming. So if you can find that video, it's a fun one to see. Yeah, no, I'm nowhere close to making a comeback. I've got my sweet spot in the alumni game. That's my sweet spot. So what? So we talked to a bunch of former players on this show. Justin Williams is a regular appearance on this show almost every month. And he's got to stay competitive because that's just part of the game. What is it for you that you do to stay competitive? Oh, man, you know, we've got our skates, our alumni skates. We have some alumni events where we play games kind of all over Colorado to raise money for youth hockey. You know, like that's kind of my lane is the alumni skates where I get, you know, we get pretty competitive out there. We usually play over 40 versus under 40. So we got some some pretty good competition. Although we have more guys over 40 now, which is not saying a

whole first Shane O'Brien, but where's Obi fit that? Yeah, you know, Obi, Obi's a solid second pairing demon in Aspen. It really depends on what time Obi shuts it down the night before and that's really because he can slot up and down the lineup, depending on if it's a one AM shutdown or a four AM shutdown, but he's he's awesome. We usually throw him and Kyle Quincy together. So they're the the bash brothers back there in the alumni games and I coach my daughters, you 10 girls team as well. And that's that that's, you know, that that gets the competitive juices flowing. Although it's harder when you're trying to tell 10 year old girls what to do versus just doing it yourself. So a Liles, I'm going to throw you this I'm getting off topic here because I just heard any of the past because it's the most uncomfortable moment I had in my when I was running the under 17 program, Kyle Quincy was a London night draft pick. Yeah, right. And he was at the time he was thinking about it. He was more like he was playing junior B along with Danny

Severette. And they're both London picks. And I was getting a lot of heat for having guys that weren't actually playing in the OHL at the time. These guys were starring at the junior B level. They were going to go on to be stars. But anyways, they made my team and I'm out the parking lot and Mrs. Quincy says, can you come over and Kyle's there and she pops her trunk and she was talking about her business. And I'm like, like, what is he going to follow some one pieces or something? And she had a lot of one pieces in the trunk. She sells sex toys for a living. Whoa, is that the most uncomfortable parent meeting? And I was like, there was stuff I it looked like Mattel stuff. And she was the most out because she was hilarious and Kyle's like, can you close the trunk? Let's just look at this. I think Kyle wishes that you close the trunk on that commentary on a national TV and radio show. Hey, it's it's we're wide open here. I mean, it's not anything. I don't it's not like I have a month of display in the back here. I'm just saying feats. Kyle was a very open fan. He made the team. He did a hell of a job. Yeah, feats. There's a lot of ways I can go with that. But I'm going to leave that alone.

Speaking of. I'll bring that up next time we're in the room. I think he's another Joe. I think he might be another Joe resident client. I mean, oh, that was going on there. Yeah. Oh boy. Okay. So Colorado beginning of the season until December 31st, 32 and seven. They had a 10 point lead on Dallas. And we're all like these guys are going to set records the way that they're going. And then they hit a law where there were 17, 11 and three since it's not a bad record. But is that a good thing for them to go through that? And it's like we saw what happened to the Bruins a few years ago. It didn't end very well. But it's not a good thing for a team to go through a bit more adversity than they face the first half of the season. Okay. I say absolutely. And we've talked about this a bunch on the broadcast. You know, you know, you're going to face adversity at some point. You'd rather face adversity in January, February, you know, to a degree march then call it mid April, mid May. Because, you know, that's when it that's when it really matters. And so to face that adversity when they did,

you know, I think when you look at it, it definitely coincided with Devon Taves going down and Gabe Landis Scott going down losing those two guys, especially Landy, I think, you know, after being away from the game for three years, the way that he's played this year and just being in the room day after day and everybody looks at him. I think when he's not in there and when he's not there on a regular basis, I think that, you know, you've got you've got some great leaders in that room. But Gabe Landis Scott is the guy that everybody looks to. He's the guy that that, you know, he's the, you know, the tip of the spear, if you will. And everybody kind of follows him. So that adversity when he went down, when Taves went down, they had a few other kind of injuries black would went down with a, you know, a little bit of a tweak there, I believe it was January one. You know, I think spacing that adversity at that time, I think was a good thing for this team because it just, I think it brought them together. It brought them, you know, I brought them closer. And, you know, now, I mean, they're playing some really good hockey and you're starting

to get guys back. Landis Scott came back after, you know, he got injured again. The macar incident will call it. And then, you know, you get holding back, you get Logan O'Connor back, first game of the season against Pittsburgh. You're getting these guys healthy and it sounds like, you know, there may be one or two more here kind of hopefully soon. And I think that this is, this is what you're hoping for. You're hoping to have a full lineup. You're hoping, you know, Jared Bednar, having to make some tough decisions, maybe in your bottom six. And, and really just, hopefully kind of everybody full steam ahead as you go down the stretch here into the playoffs. And, you know, they've won nine of their last 10 road games. They're going into Winnipeg where they, you know, they lost a couple of weeks ago. And, you know, hopefully looking to, you know, enact some, some revenge tonight. Still baffling throughout. Is there, are there any week? I mean, every team has weaknesses, but is there, is there any kryptonite with this group? Like, I look at it, even the good, the feel good stories about Landis Kud coming back. You've got,

you bring in Brent Burns, who's 1500 games. He's got, and he's never won a cup. It has so many feel good stories. You bring back cadre. Is, are there any holes? I mean, I still disbelief, these guys, their power play still mystifies me. Like, but yeah, that could all decide to go five or five two in a game and it wouldn't surprise you. 100% and their top 10 in the league on the power play since the Olympic break. So I think they're, you know, they're starting to get rolling. They're scoring some, you know, some, some power play goals at opportune times. And, you know, that I think the power play, I mean, listen, that's been kind of the buzzword, the hot topic for majority of the season. When you look at, they're leading the league in goals for, you know, they're leading the league in goals against. But yet, they're, you know, their power play hasn't been really very good up until now, Olympic break. And now they're seeming to kind of get on a roll. And there's been some tweaking, I think adding cadre into the power play mix has been a nice addition because you've got a half wall guy on the other side.

It doesn't just have to roll off a McKinnon in a natious side. And then Marty natious has moved up top on that power play. And really given them that dangerous one timer and now McKinnon works off the goal line. So there's, there's some, you know, some, some flexibility, some fluidness, I think, on the power play. As far as weaknesses, I mean, listen, every team has weaknesses. I think if you were to ask Jared Bednar, when this team checks, they're very hard to beat. When they, when they are committed in their own end, they're really, really hard to beat because when they're committed, they don't give up as many great A's. You've got solid goal tending. When you look at Blackwood and Wedge, what I think both have had really good year Scott Wedge who has been unbelievable all year McKenzie Blackwood, you know, he's dealt with the injuries from, you know, training camp kind of on and off. But I think that he's really starting to get back to rolling. But when they check in the D zone and they limit great opportunities, this team, they're going to generate offense. They're, I think that there's just too much skill. There's too much speed. They come out you wave after wave. And yes, there are, you know, there's, there's a couple of

weaknesses I would say. But realistically, I think this team, when you look at all four lines, all 6D, and you've got, you know, not only a starting goal tender, but a backup goal tender that can step in at any given time, it's hard for a lot of teams around the league to match up to what the A's could put out there. And when you look at rolling four lines and rolling 60, the, I mean, the four centers is incredible depth. And like when we, when we saw the, the Nick Watt trade, I, I mean, for my money, I won't speak on, on feats' behalf here. But I thought that was the third line center move. And I was like, okay, yeah, that makes sense. Everybody did. Yeah. And then they bring everybody to, and then they bring in Kadri and you're like, look at what these guys roll with one, two, three up the middle. How of those two, like, Nazem Kadri's already been there. But how, how is he reacquainted himself and how is Nick Waffiton? Yeah, Nick Watt, he didn't play in Pittsburgh the other night. He's got an upper body injury. Sound like it's not anything brazy, but it'll be reevaluated next week. I think Nick Watt,

like six foot four, you know, really, really smart has won. He's, he's performed really well here with this, this abs team. And they thrown him on wing a little bit. He's been really good on the penalty kill. I think he's got three goals and nine or 10 games now with the, with the team. And yeah, just just a very solid addition. And I think you made a good point. When, when that law to it trade was made, everybody was looking at it like, okay, third line center of the Kadri trade wasn't going to materialize when there was so much chatter out there about Kadri, you know, being reunited with Colorado. And I think the revisit to, you know, to Kadri and Calgary to make it happen. Now all of a sudden, not only do you have Nick Watt, who was seemingly going to be your third line center, but now you add Nazim Kadri in and, and it's, it's that depth down the middle that can win you playoff series deep in the playoffs. And I think Kadri has fit in very well since coming back. You know, it was, it was definitely a whirlwind we had him on

our podcast last week. And we just talked about, you know, the deadline and how it materialized for him like he was sitting there going, you know, the deadline passed. And I'm, you know, 30, 40 minutes after I get the call that it happened. And it's kind of, it's crazy just to think about the, the way that all materialized, especially after the abs doing the law trade or the law deal the day before. And then circling back on Nazim Kadri and adding him into the mix. And when you throw McKinnon and then you have Brock Nelson, who has been unbelievable this year, you know, 32 goals on the year. And you know, the abs took a lot of flat for what they gave up to get him. And I think the number that they resigned him at. And I would say he's been worth every penny as the, the two center and on the first power play. And then you throw Kadri and you throw a law. And then Jack Dury, Jack Dury Parker Kelly and Kivi Ronta line has been the abs best line in a handful of games recently. So it's, it's, it's going to be interesting to see how Jared bednards, Jared Bednar utilizes those center depth or that center depths. And the strength that he has

and kind of where he fits those guys in because we've seen law on wing at times. We've seen Kadri on wing at times. And he's actually not even afraid to throw Nathan McKinnon at wing on times with Brock Nelson. So there's a lot of flexibility, you know, down the middle. And I think Jared Bednar's done a nice job of mixing those guys in. Yeah, it was almost like in a very stale trade deadline. When that was announced, it was like, why are you kidding me? It was like last year with after, with March after we went off the air, March on's all sudden. Yeah, right. But I, I would think if that deal, I thought to myself, if that deal gets, let's say that deal gets announced at 245, I always wondered if, because I know there were some one for sure team that's staring Colorado right down the point in Minnesota and even like a team in the East Lake Carolina, if that had been announced earlier, because teams like to match up against if somebody might have met Joe Jack's price. But it was too late. We had to talk about it. Like we did a podcast

right at the deadline conclusion for 30 minutes. And when we got done at it was 130 here mountain time, we just said we were like, okay, we didn't get Kadri, but Minnesota and get him and Dallas didn't get him. So in the end, like it's kind of a win. And then 20 minutes later, the news comes through that we did get him. And yeah, you said it. Like I think so often teams at the deadline when all those deals are getting pushed through, they look in, especially in the central division, which is banana lands. Like how do we match up? How can we match up to what these teams just did? And the fact that the Kadri deal went through when it did was kind of amazing. And I don't know that anybody really had the time to answer given how it got, you know, whatever time it went through, you know, call it 1259 mountain, you know, 259 Eastern. So I will tell you this, as someone who was doing a two hour radio show that day with not a lot going on, that would have been very much appreciated

before. But I get it from Colorado perspective. You got to do what you got to do. You mentioned Parker Kelly in that conversation about that line. It feels like every time I tune into an abs game, he scores a big goal. And he's got 16 this year, which is double his career high. Just a confidence thing. Like, well, why the why all of a sudden the change in just this offensive out open from because that becomes very valuable in the playoffs when you talk about depth scoring. Yeah. Yeah, it does. You know, we always talk about, you know, first and second liners get you to play off, but third and fourth liners can win you play off rounds. If they can, if they can provide that depth scoring in the playoffs in Parker Kelly has had an unbelievable year. I just, yeah, it's a confidence thing. I mean, he signed that extension last summer. It really been a nice fit for this abs organization. He loves the city of Denver. He loves being on this team. And I think, yeah, just to kind of the comfort, the confidence. And he's, you know, what I, I would argue like he's shooting the puck a lot and just really trying to get a ton of pucks

at the net. And you know exactly what you're going to get from him every time he steps on the ice. You know, you're going to get physicality. You know, you're going to get skating and forecheck. He's a really, really good penalty killer. And it just seems like he's really found his rhythm this year with this abs team. And it shows you said 16 goals twice his his career high. And he's been dangerous offensively. And I don't know that that's necessarily something that you saw shift after shift from him in years past. And this year it's, it's, it's very noticeable. And like I said, you know, Jack Dury and, and you all can be wrong to that line, Jared Bednar has kept them together. You know, when, when they're all healthy for a good portion of the season. And they've just been really good because they just, they, they create, they create chaos is what I would say in the offensive zone, the way they skate, the way that they're just tenacious on the puck, the way they forecheck. And we talk about this abs team wave after wave when you, when you throw the, the offensive abilities of Nathan McKinnon and Brock Nelson and, and, you know, land a scog and

natious who's having an unbelievable year. And then you just, you, you, you come at it with the, you know, a third line of, of Kelly Dury and Kivi Ranta. It's a, it's a pretty nice thing to, to watch as a broadcaster and as an abs fan. Okay. So one of the big topics in this offseason come July 1st is going to be how much money is Kale McCarrick going to make? And I, I don't know, I, I don't need a number here. It's going to be a whopper. But could you see a scenario in which Kale McCarrick is like, yeah, I don't really need to reset the market here. I want to keep winning. I want to keep this thing together. Is that, do you think that is something that is on the table? What I'll say is if that were to happen, it would not shock me. I think that, that, that Kale McCarrick would probably say that he wants X number of dollars and, and the abs would, would probably be very willing to do it. But I could also see Kale McCarrick saying, yeah, I can, I can do it, call it 15 million a year. And, and be perfectly happy to be able to,

and I think still be able to buy groceries. Yeah, that's what we always joke about. I'll still be able to buy groceries. Yeah, it's, you know, like, I just, I think that Kale ultimately, like everybody knows what Kale is, who he is. And the fact that, that, you know, he's, he wants to win. He's, you know, Nathan McKinnon, same thing, like they want to win. And is there a happy medium in there? And like, if it happened, you know, if it happens like that, it would not shock me in the least, just given that I think Kale wants to win first and foremost. And, um, yeah, he, he'll probably still be able to buy groceries no matter what that number is. Grocery chains. Yeah, that's probably a better, yeah. It's funny when you think about it, though, it's like, like, they're like a bit of a unicorn, right? The way Crosby handles things. And you know, that's the way we can and handles things. And the trickle down effect is, okay, it wouldn't shock me at all. If this, and he's not, I'm just going to make his money. But if it means having

a chance to win as opposed to his lifestyle being much better, it's, he's going to choose to win. I mean, I always come back to this. Like when you're, and I don't know this because I've never made $15 million a year, probably won't in my lifetime. It's probably a good guess. But like, at that number, if you take like, you know, if you're saying I could make 18 or 15, I don't know that the three millions going to make a big difference in your life, like just the thought, but hey, still buy whatever car you want. We talk about that because we've never made it. No, I know, and I understand that there are people in the world that, and I'm not saying it's right. 100%. 100%. Usually, usually it's not hockey players generally speaking, but you could probably get that. Well, he's not coming off an entry level deal either, right? Like he's been making $9 million for the last, you know, handful of years. It's not like he's coming off an entry level deal. Yeah, it's pretty good cake. I think I think he'll be fine. One player that, that I love watching. And he's just, he's so impactful as Arturie Leckonon. And I remember when Colorado paid the price

to get him and people kind of went, hmm, that feels a little steep. And then all he did was perform great during the stretch run and then into the playoffs. And he's just been, he's just been a really impactful performer. You can play him literally wherever you want in the lineup. Like, is it understated how valuable he is to this team? Yes, I would say that he does fly under the radar a little bit, but he does tend to, like he's so solid, he's so good in all areas of the game. Jared Benar loves him. And if you're a coach, why wouldn't you love him? Because he just, he's tenacious, he's hardworking. He goes to the dirty areas. He's that Swiss Army knife, if you will, where you can play him on the power play. You can play him on the penalty kill. He's going to be impactful. Is he going to be a 50 goal guy or a point per game guy? Maybe not, but he's going to be pretty darn close. And he shows up in the big games, in the big moments. And that's, I mean, his track record speaks for itself. When you look at with Montreal, with Colorado,

he sends them to the Stanley Cup final against Edmonton. He scores the goal in game six that ends up being the game winner. So yeah, like Arturie Lekkenin, he's just, he's so impactful. And maybe it's not always on the score sheet, but what he does night in and night out, it's so impressive. And he's just quiet. He just, it goes about his business. And he does it and never seems to want any extra accolades. And every time you ask Nathan McKinnon early in the year, why they were having success him, Nature's and Lekkenin, he would always point to Arturie Lekkenin. Lekkenin goes to the dirty areas. He digs, pops out. He's always in front of the net. He goes, he's always in the right place. And Nathan McKinnon was always quick to just heat praise on Arturie Lekkenin. And yeah, like I said, Jared Bednar loves him as a player. The organization loves him as a player. And he always seems to show up in those huge moments. People that will, they wanted to criticize the trade at the time. It was Justin Barron and a second-round pick, which ended up becoming Carter George. But they got us the only cup out of it. So I don't think that anybody's too worried about it.

John Michael is always thanks a lot for doing this. Really appreciate it. And enjoy the rest of the season. We'll chat soon. Thanks guys. Appreciate it. Thanks for having me. John Michael Liles, Ab's analyst for altitude TV and of course a former NHL defenseman. I love Lekkenin. I just think like so valuable. He could skate. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah, he could fly. John Michael Liles. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. He's, he was always fun to watch. You know, on those Colorado teams, like early in this career, like you, you could see the offensive upside there. It was just a pleasure to watch it. That Colorado team, if you look at, like you look at that lineup, and it's like, holy smokes, nobody, that's it. There's some teams with really good depth in the national hockey league. They've got it in spades, like Colorado, just like you would, you would have to think. And that's why they play the games because it's not going to be pretty for a, I mean, if they get, if they, if they remain healthy, but again, it's like the crazier things have had, and you look at rate right now, arguably few teams hotter than them in the league, but one of them

is Nashville. It would be their first round opponent. And if you, you never want to get hot at the right time, you see Saros goes into a coma, you know, you never know. That's why they play the games. You, you never want to be the team that has been kind of home and cool. And you don't even have to set records, but I said it, man, the van, this one is probably more, it was different because we were a younger group, but they've got the veterans in Nashville. They've got the gold tenor that reminds me of quick. Their defense is getting healthy. They remind me of the team coming and playing that hockey. And the different, the avalanche Vancouver, I said that 2012 Vancouver was home and cooled out for so long with the asterisks that they didn't know that what was coming. I think this, the difference is that this Colorado team, I think Dallas and Minnesota have pushed them to play really well and not go on to have a chance and break because they had to protect their, they had to protect their own land and keep that first spot. So those games really matter

where they didn't, they weren't so home and cooled out that they could mail it in. Yeah. And technically rescues. So it'll be one hell of a matchup. By the way, you mentioned Nashville in there. We talked about Hall of Famers yesterday, guys that are playing right now, Neil McHale, who sent me a note, Roman Yosey. Yeah. Yeah. That was one that we missed, but I mean, he's another, but he means he's phenomenal. You'd like to see again a little bit more team success because he can't again. He's not like, we're not going to talk about Switzerland doesn't have. He's not going to have the international, international titles, so to speak. He's always been outstanding, but he's got, he's got a Norris. He's played a thousand games. He's got seven hundred and 72 points. He led his team and scoring for like five straight years or something. He's, he's, trust me, he's going to be, he'll be in the, he'll be in the picture. I don't know if he's a tap in put, but he's definitely in the picture. Yeah. I would agree with that. Let's get to a couple of texts here to the mail bag. This from Omit and Calgary isn't the current state of

the Western conference, especially the reason the playoff format should be a simple one to eight without even a division leader automatically getting the second seed. I, I don't disagree, but I still think that if you finish first in your division, you should get a top two seed. It's, it can go back either way because every year, every year, and I guess it's, it's, this is a genuine statement because he's calling for Calgary. It doesn't affect this year. But yeah, I think every year there's a different, there's a different seed. Yeah, again, and I, it doesn't, I get the rivalry thing, but it doesn't bother me as much as, as others, but I, I, this is one that I see these good sides and bullet like great points on both sides of the equation. I just find it incredibly, again, it tells you what kind of year it's been in the Eastern conference because we're so long I've been trying to figure out where Florida and Toronto are going to fit into this and neither one this year. Yeah, for different reasons.

Uh, this is a question from, let me just pull this up here. Uh, afternoon gents, Mark and Water we have seen the rise of the rock twins. Uh, so that would, that would be Liam and Marcus rock playing for the medicine hat tigers. Uh, over, they've been, they've rocking it up the rankings over recent months. Simple question. Does someone pull a burky and draft the twins? I actually asked Jason Buckela this question and we'll talk to him a little bit more about these two tomorrow. You know the team that sticks out to me because they have the capital to probably make it happen and they could use an influx of offense, the Calgary flames. Western kids, I think they're BC born. The, uh, yeah, no, they are interesting because burky, burky just, it's again, when you have the top pick, right, you're full control over just so you, it's not it was easy what he did. You certainly, we had to get our draft. We had to give up Brian McCabe. No, it was massive to make it happen, but it's, it's again, so basically what you

would have to do in their situation based on again and having seen them very briefly, I know what you're talking about now because they were big with medicine, medicine hat and they were, I mean, the one, they moved up into some lists, like 12th and 10th overall and some lists, uh, be interesting to see the more what Bucke's thinks about him, but you would dive in Calgary's defense where they're going to be picking, right? It's too high. No, but I'm saying they have an extra first and they have all those seconds too. Okay. Well, if you want to get creative and you can move your first up high enough, again, it's, it's a lot of moving pieces, uh, considering that you are going to have one first round pick before they're available. Yep. If they were, if they were sitting in the nine area, uh, they have vagus is nine to 11. Don't what's that Calgary's vagus is unique. They got a lot of amulet. They got a lot of bullets. They do. Um, they also have four seconds. That's the kind of creativity because that's probably if you, if hypothetically, if you've

got the 11th spot and you're making a deal with it to get the 13th spot and move up to make to guarantee you're going to get the rock twins, he's probably going to cost you a couple seconds in a toll charge. So you've got the bullets to do it. That's what I mean. Like it, it's going to, that, for some, that seems very, uh, fantasy football trade, but when you have capital like that, well, and especially a marketable, you've got to know, I don't like talking about it, because I don't know the players well enough. They're, they're, their stats are ridiculous. They're both over a hundred or seven points. One, two, and scoring in the W, right? They're, both, they're five, eleven, uh, six feet. If you love them, I'm sure someone would say they're in that, you know, they're not monsters, but they're great players. But it's the connection between the two of them that makes them so intriguing. Yeah. We don't, I don't know what, how they would be apart from each other. And I wonder how much though you got to be, I'll tell you one thing, you got to be damn sure. This leads me to, okay, because I drafted identical twins. You know what sound, right? And it, and it, and it, it did not end up like the city. And so

these weren't elite, elite guy character kids family, but they, it literally, it became so divisive, because one was ready to play and one wasn't ready to play. And I had parents losing their snarf on me, like, I, you know, holy smokes. How can you, how can you see? I had a, they actually went in for a meeting with the kid that made the team, okay? And found out he made it. We're glorious, like, hugs and kisses, put some apples on the teacher's desk. Then they left, changed clothing, unique, came back in and found out their other kid was getting sent down to, and I was the worst person. And I had to make a mental note to say to it, I had to say, I said to say to my assistant, is you never have these kind of meetings on your own, you need to have your, your support staff slash stenographer there. I said, did they change? Yeah, this was a different meeting. But it was only 20 minutes apart. Oh, that's a little too much for me. That's the bud.

Yeah, when you're hockey, it's best. I currently, good family. Very good kids. All right, we got to take a break. When we come back, the Las Vegas Golden Knights, one, four and oh, in their last five. And while we focused on the gold tending, they can't score either. Their top three guys are absent at the moment. What gives Danny Webster from the Las Vegas Review Journal joins us when we come back. Please be joined on the line from the Las Vegas Review Journal. He is Danny Webster. Danny, how

we doing? We're good. So, well, we're better than the Vegas Golden Knights in the last five games. I can promise you that. One, four and oh, they've been outscored 16 to four. They've been a shut out twice. Like we talk a lot about the gold tending, but Jack Eichel, Mark Stone and Mitch Mariner have combined for a one, two, carry the three. One assist in the last five games. What's more concerning right now, the gold tending or the lack of offense? I would say right now the lack of offense. When you take a look at how Jack Eichel and Mark Stone have looked since coming back from the Olympic break, it is really not being good. I think it was, I think it's nine points combined between Eichel and Stone, and you really can't get that from your top line right now. I think Mitch Mariner has probably been one of the more consistent players since coming back from the Olympic break. I think he's played really well in both ends. He's lined back up at center. You're probably going to see that tonight against Edmonton. So, I have no problems really with Mariner, but when you look at Eichel and Stone, I think

those two guys occupying two-thirds of your top line, that's really the biggest concern for me right now. Obviously, the gold tending has been a big talking point this year with Aiden Hill and where he's at in his game, and he's getting a lot of starts now in terms of revving up in the playoffs, but with the way Eichel and Stone are playing right now, and they're not really producing in the points department that you would hope that they would, that to me right now is the biggest concern. Is there, I mean, are they in to best your knowledge, and I mean, you put in a spot, like, I mean, Stone's probably a little banged up, I would assume, coming back from, I mean, he's just, he's just been put through so many different situations that seem to be, and I mean, I know there's back issues as well. Is Eichel healthy? Eichel's, I wouldn't be surprised if there was something was nagging him. Obviously, with him playing top-line minutes for Team USA and the Olympics, that probably does have a little bit to do with it. Stone did miss five games earlier after he came back from the break with a,

I guess it was a strange side or something along those lines. So I wouldn't be surprised if that was something that was still nagging him as well. Well, with Eichel, I wouldn't rule it out, but with these guys right now, this time of the year, they're definitely not going to, they're definitely not going to show that. They've got 10 games left in a, in a playoff chase that is, as tight as possible, can be in the worst division in hockey. So no matter what you might think about it, I honestly think that it wouldn't be surprising if they were dealing with something, but yeah, I don't think they're going to let on anything about that. They mean they make the big trade for Anderson. They add a real quality, quality, national hockey league. You know, he'd probably, one of the better defensive sentiment in the league and nicked out as far as face-off. So they weren't, didn't stand, stand alone at the deadline, but they can mean it's amazing to me. They've got two games against one another in the next, out of the next five, but usually this is the type of year we're talking about kind of Edmonton and Vegas are kind of home and cooled out and the rest of everybody's trying to sort themselves out.

But there was almost like, when you look at strength, the schedule, they've got some games that, they've got a really, they're kind of, I mean, I guess at this stage, they are must wins. They've got Vancouver, Vancouver, Washington and Calgary. Calgary is kind of the slayer of the beast right now, the way they're playing, but it's kind of go time, is it not even for like, this is an organization that does not deal well with any kind of failure. Yeah, it definitely is go time. Like you said, the strength of the schedule coming up for these guys, it's winnable. You got Vancouver on the schedule, you got Seattle, who's in a little bit of a slide. I mean, really the top games that you're looking at over these last ten or two against Edmonton, and then you got them one against Colorado in a couple of weeks. So this is a chance for them one to establish some momentum against those big-time players or against those big-time teams later on. But two, if you want to establish yourself as a playoff team with any sort of momentum or whatever it is, you've got to start winning these

games. And the way that the Golden Knights have been playing over the last sort of bit, there's not really a lot of confidence that you can look at and say, is this team ready to turn the side? The good thing is, like I mentioned earlier, like you guys know, distribution is not great. But if they lose tonight and say the Kings win, I believe they're playing Calgary tonight, or it's either Calgary, Vancouver. Vancouver. If the Kings win tonight, then suddenly it's, they're what, two points back or one point back of the Golden Knights for third place, and then suddenly, you know, they're breathing down their necks there. So there's a lot at stake here tonight. There's a lot at stake over in these next ten games. Like I said, this is a team that, you know, it's only Mr. Playoffs one time in nine years so far. And I can't imagine what kind of overhaul would come if they missed the playoffs again. But, you know, leave it up to imagination, I mean, I guess. So this team has a, it's got a lot of players that

have won on it, because I mean, they only won just a few years ago. But can it be overstated, not how much it means to not have Alex Patrangelo in this lineup? Yeah, I would say so, not having him in the locker room, not having his leadership presence on the ice, I think definitely has hurt them, especially knowing that he was one that you could rely on in all, in all areas. He's a guy that you rely on five on five. You relied on him on the PK. You relied on him at times on Powerplay before they went to a five four unit. He was the guy that you could rely on in those situations and be that guy that is a calming presence in a locker room. And, you know, to the golemite's credit, they did go out and get Rasmus Anderson, who tell him a crimin thought that he had the intangibles on the ice to at least fill in for Alex Patrangelo. But it has been a grind for Anderson, so he hasn't fully been there. But I do think that not having Alex Patrangelo at this point has definitely hurt this team. He's

been around the room as much as he can. He's been around the team as much as he can while he's rehabbing. But there's a big difference between not having one of your leaders in the room with you ready to go and gain and not having him in the room, you know, when times are tough. So, I would say what you're seeing right now, he would be a guy that you would want to lean on in this last stretch to, you know, help this group get across Spinchline. Carter Hart has kind of like he got hurt and then we didn't hear anything about it. I just was like, yeah, he's kind of weak to weak and then the weeks became months. Do you have any sense of why he might have? He might have. We don't know. The Vegas Golden Knights are very secretive when it comes to that. But do you have any sense of when he might be back in the lineup? Or is he going to be back in the lineup? It's tough right now because when you look at the way that the roster is set up in the way that the salary cap is designed for them, it's

hard to imagine when he gets back in the lineup. Well, you have two healthy gold tenders right now with Aiden Hill and Akira Schmidt and Schmidt, I think is, you know, the numbers aren't there, but Schmidt's been the most consistent, reliable gold tender of really the three at this point. But unless there's an injury or unless they decide, you know, at the last hour that William Carlson needs to go on season ending, else they are, I don't see a pathway right now for Carter Hart to get back into the lineup because it would have to require moving some sort of salary off the books or sending someone to Henderson or whatever the case may be. And especially now with the the playoff salary cap now, there's really no guarantees. So he is skating from what Bruce Cassidy has told us he is closing in on a return. When that return is because of the roster size and the salary cap and everything of that nature, unless there's an injury that comes up in the

next 10 games, it'd be hard for us to see if Carter Hart sees the ice for the rest of the season for the scene. Where do we stand with William Carlson? Like, is do you think there's a chance that he goes on on season ending LTIR or is the plan for him to to be in the lineup at some point in the playoff? That is that that is their hope is that if they go on a run, which probably my guess would be one or two rounds, if they can get to the conference final, I think that's probably when they would hope Carlson would be back. It was such a weird thing because he did the the intermission interview with the local TV station here after the first period against Anaheim back in November. It was like, okay, he's fine. He had just I believe he just assisted on a goal. Everything was good. And then we did not hear anything about William Carlson for the remainder of time. It was quite the the interesting situation there. But all signs point to him being an option at some point. The fact that he hasn't been on season ending LTIR yet is kind of surprising, but I think it's going

to take maybe around maybe two rounds to win and getting him back in a series against Colorado Dallas and Minnesota to even have remotely a chance we're going to come back in the lineup. When you look at this team over this recent stretch, you know, the goal tending is one thing that the lack of scoring is another, but there's is there something deeper that we're not getting into here with this team as it pertains to just the lack of success. They've really struggled against playoff teams, just playing and simple really good teams. They've struggled with something that we haven't seen from the Vegas goal of nights. Is it maybe feel like there's been just too much change with this team? Or is it kind of just, hey, teams like this, they go through it. Sometimes you're just not as good as you were. I don't think it's really anything deep. I mean, like you said, it's it's uncharacteristic to see this team struggling in the way that they do. When they won the Cup in 23, they were very detailed oriented in their own zone. They were very structured in that

in that side. It allowed Aiden Hill to find his game. It allowed him to get comfortable. But you watch, even going back as far as maybe December, there have been a lot of times where the defensive structure just has not been there. And that's not that's not normal for a Bruce Cassidy coach team. And I think that's really been a big issue for this team is that we talked about out to Tranjolo. I think he's one of the guys that you can rely on the guys on the back and to go, hey, let's get it together. Let's tighten up things back here a little bit. And you see a lot of the goals that have been given up that are off turnovers, off breakouts, like against Winnipeg the other night. You know, Shay Theodore turns it around and it turns it over in his own zone. And suddenly it's one time around the back of the net. You know, you have a rolling puck that gets by Brady McNabb, which has happened a couple times over the last few games. And it turns into a three on one. Like, these are the kind of games. These are kind of goals that a couple of years ago when this team was winning the Stanley Cup, you didn't see that. So I don't think it's

anything deeper. I think it's just what you see right now is lack of defensive structure, lack of the timely saves, lack of really the timely moments that this team relied on for the last couple of years. They're just not happening right now. And then you couple that with the offensive struggles, like I'm talking about with Ikel and Stone all together. It's just one giant mess of how do you fix it? And right now there just doesn't seem to be one consistent fix with what's going on with this group right now. And it's certainly not, it's not all defense-related, but I agree with you 100% because when you kind of look at these, when you look at these pairings, right, that's the one thing I used to, when you look at the Vegas pairings, you just shake your head and go like, how'd they get all those guys? Like it was like, it was like Martinez, Petrangelo, White Cloud, like just, yeah, lefty, righty seem to work out. And again, you move on, like I like White Cloud was a stating force. Like you had to give up a lot to get Anderson. But it is unique. And the only thing I can't, we were trying to figure this out at the other

day, Danny, is it is hard. I know you, it's not always about goal-tending. And if you don't break it down, but it's been amazing how quickly teams have scored out of the gate, right? It's almost like an early run, so to speak. Like what was the other night, man? He said three out of seven shots or like that. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Like if you're a coach in the bench and you're trying to preach, this is a reset night and all of a sudden you look up in the national anthem singer, hasn't even got the snow off his boots and you're down three, three goals. They've been given up a lot early. Yeah. And that's another thing that when Bruce Cassidy got here, the one trait that he always harped on was, how can you stop the bleeding? And they really haven't stopped the bleeding a lot this year. I mean, you talked about the other night when they got three goals on eight shots. So you go back to the Utah game on last Thursday. Aiden Hill coming off, you know, five straight starts. He's playing the best. He's played all season. First three shots of the gamer in the back of the net. And suddenly you're down three nothing in the first, you know, five, six minutes against Utah. And then suddenly it's like, okay, well, now they've taken one step forward and two

steps back with where they are. And yeah, absolutely. The, the, the first goals, I think, I think I think it was a staff came out the other day that they've allowed the first goal in the first shot. 11 times this year, which is, that's not good. It's not good. It's not good. And I mean, you get to the playoffs and you're going against Edmonton in the first round. You got the first goal in the first shot to, you know, Conor McDavid or Leon Drys title, especially at Rodgers, you're, that place is going to be buzzing. You're going to have no chance to come back from that. Like this is a team that, you know, is battles tested. It's a veteran group. But, you know, it's the little things. It's as mental mistakes that have cost them so far. And you wonder if that's going to be even remotely enough when, you know, when they get into the playoffs, how they can respond to that. I mean, he's got to sign you off. But I'll tell you right now, based on what I've seen, if Edmonton is playing Vegas in the first round, they'll both be exceptionally happy. First shot, first shot goals for everybody. I would give up the first base where they're at now the way they're playing. That would mean they've figured this out and made the playoffs. So, yeah,

that's a very good first period over. Yes, that's, that's usually a very, very good option. Danny, thanks as always for doing it. Danny, really appreciate it. We'll chat soon. Of course. Thanks, guys. Danny Webster from the Las Vegas review journal. You don't know another stat about the Vegas goal in the nights right now. This one will blow your mind. We know that they have a pension, a pension see for, okay, go ahead. Well, you know what it is. Thank you. So go ahead for having come back wins. No, that wasn't it. Go ahead. They have trailed. So this was from, this was from yesterday. They have trailed from sendman Vegas for 1,845 minutes. That is dead last in the national hockey league. Vancouver is the only team within 100 minutes of Vegas. And last time I checked, Vancouver's last place in the national hockey league. That's not good. One was last time you checked. Just now, okay,

just making sure it's a recency bias. I want to take everybody off. What were you going to say? It was something to do with you come at you. I think you brought up before, blew me away or books. It's how many something to do with them. They're first rounders. They don't have them. No, that was it. They don't have that was it playing elsewhere. I mean, and I mean, I guess is who keys the most notable. Yeah, the funny. Oh, man. That was pack. You're ready, right? That was the patch ready deal. So they did not have a first in the 25. Trevor Connolly, they dropped in 24 19th overall. He's still on the system. David Edström is not. They didn't have one in 22. They would winked. They would winked a lot of people on that because there were a lot of us drinking the screech on that Swedish defenseman that they ended up turning. He would be. Oh, Branström. He was the key piece. Yeah, the arcs don't. Yeah, Zach turned out to be. Zachary Dean is with St. Louis Blues. He was 21, 20 Brendan Brissons with arrangers.

2019 Peyton Crabbs is with the Sabas Savers. They didn't have one there. Cody Glass, Nick Suzuki, and Eric Branström, three firsts. But they have a cup. So what do you say? It's a beautiful one. Yeah, I bet it is. Ring opens up. Yeah. We got to get out here. Big thanks to everybody behind the glass. Thanks to Elliott Freeman, John Michael Liles, and Danny Webster. Thanks for calling and texting. Thanks to my co-host, Mike Fuda. Feel better. I'll give you some tips on getting rid of that congestion. We'll get you good. Stop it. Not Mark Casey signing off with a fan hockey show. Back with more moral books is in the studio. See everybody. Bye.
