Avalanche Reunite with Kadri, Boost Center Depth

The Colorado Avalanche pulled off a big reunion trade just before the NHL deadline, bringing back center Nazim Kadri from the Calgary Flames. Kadri helped the abs when the Stanley Cup in 2022 before signing with Calgary as a free agent. The deal leaked more than an hour after the 3pm cutoff, but it cleared because it hit the league's queue in time. Sports nets Elliott Friedman broke the news first, exactly 60 minutes past deadline. TSN's Pierre LeBrone confirmed it soon after. Calgary sends Kadri with 20% salary retained, plus a fourth round draft pick in 2027 to Colorado. In return, the Flames get a conditional first round pick, a second rounder, forward Victor Olopson, and prospect Max Kern.
