In Durham, it's March 1st. Here's what is happening. A gunman killed two people and wounded 14 others in a shooting outside a bar in Austin, Texas, early Sunday morning. Police identified the shooter as 53-year-old in Diaga Diagni, a naturalized U.S. citizen originally from Senegal. The attack happened just before 2 a.m. at Buford's backyard beer garden on the popular Sixth Street Night Live strip. Diagni drove past the bar a few times in his SUV before firing a pistol out the window at people on the patio. He then parked, got out with a rifle, and kept shooting at folks nearby. Officers rushed in and shot him dead within a minute of the first emergency call. Austin's mayor praised the quick police response, saying it definitely saved lives. The University of Texas is nearby, and some victims were students there. The area has seen other big shootings in recent years, including one in 2021 that hurt 14 people. The FBI is looking into whether this was a terrorist act based on some indicators they found on Diagni and in his vehicle.

Officials say it's too soon to say for sure. Meanwhile, another shooting early that same Sunday at a nightclub in Cincinnati, wounded nine people, but all injuries were non-life threatening.
