Austin Bar Shooting: 2 Killed, 14 Wounded

A gunman opened fire outside a popular bar on Sixth Street in Austin, Texas, just before 2 a.m. on Sunday, killing two people and wounding 14. Others. Police identified the shooter as 53-year-old Indyaga Diagne, who wore a sweatshirt reading property of Ala and another shirt featuring Anne, Iranian flag design, officers shot and killed him at the scene. The attack came one day after Israel and the United States struck Iran, killing Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Diagne, originally from Senegal, had come to the US in 2006 and become a naturalized citizen. He first drove by the bar in his SUV, firing a pistol at people on the patio, then parked and continued shooting with a rifle. Austin Police Chief Lisa Davis noted that officers arrived within a minute and confronted the gunman right away, likely preventing more deaths. Mayor Kirk Watson praised the quick response from police and rescuers.

The FBI is treating the incident as a potential terrorist act due to certain indicators on the shooter and in his vehicle.
