Asylum Seekers Trial: Rape Allegations on Brighton Beach

0:00On April 7th, a court in Hove is hearing a case where three asylum seekers allegedly raped a woman on Brighton Beach, last October 4th. 20-year-old Egyptian, Karen Al-Dena-Sor, filmed the attack and faces charges for encouraging it, plus sharing the video without consent. His co-defendants, 25-year-old Egyptian Ibrahim Al-Shafe, and 26-year-old Iranian Abdullah Amadi, deny raping her twice each. Prosecutors say the men spotted the woman staggering alone after she got separated from friends on a night out. They call the assault cynical and predatory, with footage showing her falling down. All three lived in a government-approved hotel for migrants near Horsham at the time. Al-Dena-Sor told jurors he filmed three clips to stop the others and gather proof, even yelling at them that God would expose their actions. He claims he first tried pulling them away, but the prosecutor dismissed his story as lies meant to cover his role.
