UK News Today | 2 Min News | The Daily News Now! — Arson Attempt at Persian Media Office, Three Arrested. Machine-transcribed; use the interactive transcript above to jump the player to any line.
On April 16, three arrests went down after an attempted arson hit a Persian-language media office in Wimbly, Northwest London. Cops say someone tossed an ignited container at the building Wednesday, around 8.30 pm. Luckily, it landed in a car park, the fire fizzled out quick, and no one got hurt or damage reported. Police spotted a black SUV speeding off and gave chase until it crashed on Baller's Lane. That's when they nabbed a 16-year-old boy plus two men, ages 19 and 21, all on suspicion of arson endangering life. The crew's still in custody as things unfold. Folks in nearby buildings got evacuated just to be safe, but everything reopened fast once cops cleared the area of any real threat. The community dodged a bullet with zero injuries, the same being called terrorism, even though counter-terrorism policing London's running point with local backup. Officials say no ties to that synagogue attempt in Finchley, same day or last month's hit on ambulances from a Jewish charity in Golders Green.
Investigators keep digging, but for now, it's isolated, keeping North London on watch without the panic.
