Army Seeks Suspects in Drone Theft from Fort Campbell

0:00On March 12, the U.S. Army has released photos of two masked suspects wanted in the theft of four small quadcopter drones from a government building at Fort Campbell, in Kentucky. The Skydo X-10D models were taken between November 21 and November 24, and the Army is offering a reward of up to 5,000 dollars for tips leading to arrests and convictions. The drones feature on-board artificial intelligence that lets them fly on their own, dodging trees, buildings, and power lines even in complete, darkness, but they only have small cameras and pose no risk to the public. This was no random break-in. The thieves had authorized access to the military base and the secured building, where they broke into lock storage, cages in a targeted grab. Photos show the suspects in head coverings, dark sweatshirts, and long pants, along with images of two possible getaway vehicles, a light-colored, four-door sedan, and a dark-colored four-door truck.
