Antifa Protesters Convicted of Terrorism

The case marked the first time prosecutors alleged defendants were part of an anti-F-Terror cell. The group faced accusations stemming from a noisy demonstration at a detention center outside Fort Worth, last 4th of July. The protest started peacefully with fireworks to support detainees inside, but it quickly escalated. Some demonstrators vandalized vehicles in a guard check, leading guards and a police officer to intervene. One protestor fired an AR-15 rifle, wounding the officer in the shoulder, though he survived. During the trial, all nine were found guilty on most counts, but there were a few acquittals on attempted murder and firearms charges. Four defendants walked on those, while leader Benjamin Song was cleared on two attempts, but convicted on one-plus firearms.
