Amik Robertson Leaves Lions for Commanders

The deal includes $9.3 million in guaranteed money and was first reported by NFL insiders. Robertson proved reliable over the past two seasons, playing in all 35 games including playoffs. Last year he started 10 games, handling both slot and outside duties, especially after filling in for an injured teammate late in the season. He made some plays with two force fumbles and one interception, but opponents completed eight touchdown passes against him, his highest career mark. Still, his versatility made him a key part of the Lions' defense. This loss hurts Detroit's secondary, already dealing with off-field issues for Tarion Arnold and season ending injuries to safety, Brian Branch and Kirby Joseph, and his rake straw junior and Thomas Harper could step up for slot roles next year.
