Ament's Return Sparks Vols' SEC Tourney Run

The freshman guard had missed two games with a high ankle spring, but he jumped right back in during the Vol 72 to 62 win at. Bridgestone Arena A highlight came when he missed a three-pointer, crashed into the baseline photographers, got a quick and drained the next one from the corner. Amit took a beating all-game, falling into crowds, getting fouled hard on layups, and landing rough every time he went up. Still, he kept battling and posted a team-high 27 points along with eight rebounds, four assists, three blocks, and a steal. His tough play helped the fifth-seated Vols, now 22 and 10, advanced to the quarterfinals. teammates raved about having him back, calling him a game closer who took over late. Coach Rick Barnes noted how the offense smoothed out as the game wore on. Amit himself said, he felt great out there, looking sharp in his first action since February 28th.
