Ament Returns, Tennessee Ready for SEC Tournament

0:00On March 12, Tennessee basketball fans can breathe a sigh of relief today, as star freshman Nate Amint is set to return for the Volunteers opening, game in the SEC tournament. The 6-foot 10-wing has been sideline for two weeks with an ankle injury from their match-up against Alabama, missing games against South Carolina, and Vanderbilt. The team earned the number 5 seed but fell just short of a double-by. They face Auburn this afternoon, after the Tigers handled Mississippi State on Wednesday. Tennessee already topped Auburn 77-69 earlier this season in Knoxville. Before the injury, Amint was heating up fast, averaging 17.4 points per game overall, and scoring 20 or more in six of his last. Nine outings. Coach Rick Barnes says the player is doing well in practice and will ease back into action carefully to protect that ankle with the NCAA tournament just a week away. The game tips off at 3pm, Eastern Time and Nashville on the SEC Network.
