Amaya's Boots: School Uniform Battle

Her dad Duane says the school ignored special permission they had given, even after new policies rolled out. Amaya attends St. Paul's Church of England, primary, run by Vantage Academy Trust. The changes came via a newsletter last March, and her mom confirmed the boots were fine. But on Monday and Tuesday, staff lying kids up at the gates like soldiers and turned her away twice. Duane, a 40-year-old dad and former student there himself, is furious. Amaya is in the middle of an autism assessment and deals with bullying, so schools already abaddle. He says the rejection broke her heart, left her crying for days, and swapping shoes would just upset her more. Now the school says she can return in trainers instead of boots.
