Alabama Flags Lowered for Fallen Airmen

0:00Birmingham's story is making news on March 17th. Governor Kay Ivey has ordered flags across Alabama lower to half staff to honor three airmen from the Birmingham Air National Guard Base who died in a plane crash. Major John Allitz-Clinner, tech sergeant Ashley Pruitt and Captain Arianna Savino were killed on March 12th when their KC-135 tanker win, down in Western Iraq. The three were part of the 99th air refueling squadron, deployed for Operation Epic Fury. They were among six service members lost in that mission last week. Cleanner, a trust-filled resident in Auburn University graduate from 2016, leaves behind his wife Livy and their three children. Auburn praised his dedication to service, noting the school's strong military alumni tradition. Pruitt hail from Kentucky and graduated from the Community College of the Air Force in Montgomery. She survived by her husband, young daughter and stepson. Savino graduated from Central Washington University through Air Force ROTC and her family plans
