00Actually have some breaking news to start this entire thing ladies and gentlemen The bell of the ball was what he was named a man who is a second-round draft pick out of Cincinnati to the Indianapolis Colts a wide receiver that everybody wanted while this guy can take to top off a defense In this modern world where there's two shell coverage and everybody's keeping everything in front He's anybody gonna be able to be explosive. He's anybody able to be able to go deep Well, there was one man that did that this past season at a rapid rate Alec Pierce. Where will he go? Well He's staying with the Colts We'll get to candle box in the Jones and Keith 1990 slash early 2000s heavy metal new metal grunge alternative pop punk butt rock rock bands bracket go vote Don't see Jones and Keith I can't I Can't just ignore that build up from McAfee. That's kind of what I was talking about It's like like good job by McAfee He had a one-on-one with peers. He built it all up. He started his show. I don't mean to say it's a bad get No, no, I think it does tell you a lot about free agency where it's like we're gonna build this up to start our whole show
03And it's Alec Pierce who gotten $14 million for Chris Hogan or Alec Pierce For like a souped-up cash on booty. Yep. This is the most money for a free agent wide receiver in NFL history And some of you really wanted him not us. No, I people did but some of you and maybe he'll maybe he'll be great I don't think so. I mean, I don't think he'll ever be all pro He may never be a real proble or meaning like you know before you get to like the fifth six seventh injury replacement or guys That just don't want to go. I don't even know if that's in the cards now He's only played four years in the league. So there is a chance that he gets better But also he's staying with the same team. So I thought maybe there'd be a chance where I might eat my words about how he's not that great If he went and teamed up with my homes or he teamed up with Josh Allen or he teamed up with you know, even Herbert regular season Herbert Maybe he'd be better He's just back with the cult and the way they used him was just like chuck a deep for 25 yards every every time like I love it No, I got I don't think he I don't think he's that great
06So in a way, I think the Patriots dodged a bullet But if you were like hey Alec Pierce or nobody like I would take Alec Pierce If it's AJ Brown or Alec Pierce that brother of AJ Brown and so that still remains to be seen No, no update on on that story. Nope So the news out there today if you want me to recap a little bit and we'll get to the Patriots specific stuff in a moment But two I was released today sounds like the Falcons are in Trent Williams could be traded by the San Francisco 49ers We just mentioned Alec Pierce signing a big deal with the Indianapolis Colts What else what else what else? That just happened. Oh right. We just had Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker to the chiefs that happened while we were in break Yeah, interesting. They had been linked pretty heavily to Breeze Hall all off season. Yeah, you're franchise They've been linked in mock drafts a lot to Jeremiah Love who you said Keith He won't get out of the top five. Maybe this is part of the reason why the chiefs are like crap Yeah, we wanted love at nine or wherever they're drafting can't get him We wanted Breeze Hall. He got franchised by the Jets So pivot to as you said Super Bowl MVP ran all over you last year
08In the Super Bowl Kenneth Walker now a Kansas City chief are financial details in on that or not I'm not seeing either now the other chiefs news today was that Travis Kelsey is gonna return I know there's talk about retirement. Nothing. I want to go somewhere else But so they retain Travis Kelsey who isn't what he once was But when you look at the tight end position still as productive as most right like he's he's not Brock Bowers when that Bowers is healthy anymore But he's still good and then Kenneth Walker So they've needed a little bit of help in the in the backfield They could still use like a real receiver for my homes But whatever. I mean Kenneth Walker is pretty good. Well see first hand I think the chiefs and this is just me connecting dots I think the chiefs might be in on digs that makes sense to me on some level Maybe they're in on AJ Brown Maybe there are another team lurking on AJ Brown. They've they've cleared the decks to a degree. Yeah, financially Moving off Trent McDuffie who signed for a hundred million guaranteed with the Rams as we discussed one texture said Why would the Patriots overpay just because the Rams did well, you don't have to you don't have to But Gonzalez and his agent might think that you do then Gonzo will be somewhere else. That's all
11Another text here guys. Do you think Michael Pitman is available now that the colts brought back Alec Pierce and would you want him? Interestingly enough, this just came out yes and yes The Newark star ledger says the giants will consider now trading for Michael Pitman Who potentially is available now that Alec Pierce is back. So interesting That's not necessarily the colts are trading him But he's a name who could be out there and available. I'd rather have Pitman than Pierce He's going to come way cheaper and I think he's a better receiver. Yep. Uh, so there's that Meanwhile, the Patriots earlier today released Jolani Tavai. They have brought in Dremont Jones An edge rusher from We'll last year anyway the Ray Titans and Titans dealt to the Ravens for a fifth round pick or a conditional pick anyway That could have been a four or five I spent time in Denver as well. I'm reading here from Albert Brear New Patriots outside linebacker Dremont Jones is a great story three technique at Ohio State So you know Brear had to get in the Ohio State. Absolutely. Plus, there's a three technique I don't know if you knew that. He's a three technique there Keith good detail He began his NFL career there. He's eventually worked his way out to the edge
13Where he's a bigger guy for the position Mike Rable I believe was part of his recruitment at Ohio State over a decade ago So Keith your instincts they were pretty good. Well, yeah, but Rable was there a long time ago His so his recruitment right so like you're recruiting him as what a sophomore or junior in high school Yeah, maybe I still don't know if it line of Brear would know, but Mike Rable was at Ohio State 2011-12 and 13 Dremont Jones I think was there like 16 17 18 so maybe I mean these guys get recruited pretty young So maybe he saw him playing like ninth grade football or something, but He's at least in Ohio State guy also I think him getting traded in season for like five games and being like a fourth or a fifth round pick Also shows you there were some value there. He himself was a third round pick But how does best year like if you combine the two teams He had 24 QB hits and he had seven sacks, which was both more career high as a bunch of pressures I'm just reading I'm just reading here He finished his 29 or he's 29 now finished the season with a 64.7
17Pro football focus grade his highest since he was in Denver So he he's hitting the market at a good time. I give the I give Rable the benefit of the doubt Especially grabbing defensive players, you know, even like Jack Gibbons was pretty useful to him last year Let alone the guys that they went out and were aggressive on like Milton Williams and spleen. So yeah More on Dremont Jones in a moment, but real quick Kate Otten That's a tight end who was available in free agency sounds like the Patriots may pivot off wide receivers to tight ends According to Reese and Albert Breer Kate Otten back to Tampa We also have the numbers for Kenneth Walker in Kansas City Now a chief if you're just tuning in no longer a Seattle Seahawk chiefs deal with Ken Walker is for three years 43 million could be worth up to 45 According to Jordan Schultz. That's almost 29 million guaranteed So those are the numbers there Uh, meanwhile a couple of tweets on Dremont Jones some of this was covered by Burt Breer Like GRD says Dremont Jones is the subject of trade talk with the Patriots and Titans last fall He said those talks didn't go very far
18He can play inside and out over his history Jones is a far more effective rusher from the interior at six three 281 Uh, so I just I saw that not I saw he's 281 and I looked up Landry Keith Landry's 252 Kalamon Chasen is 255 So this is some of what Burt Breer was saying like he started his career as more of a D line men Like interior guy. Yeah, yeah, yeah, and then move more outside of the edge exactly So there is versatility there, but GRD says he's better as like an interior rusher Which makes sense. So that could be versatility It could also be as Nick mentioned in the break Well, gee, who's an interior past rusher that the Patriots haven't been locked in on commitment-wise long term Christian Barmore is this Is this a way to pivot off barmore? Get what you can for him Save some money on Dremond Jones who could be an edge rusher who also kicks inside alongside Milton Williams An obvious past rushing situation maybe I mean definitely it gives you the ability to use them either way And so now I think it just sort of
20The barmore situation you have a little bit more leverage and then sort of the rest of free agency too Like we were saying how they need to get a couple of edge rushers So depending on how that plays out also the draft I think it's probably where they might target somebody I mean at 31 overall you could probably get some right away if you comes in and plays You get a good edge rusher at 31 with Dremond Jones I'd feel like that's two moves at the position. Yeah, we wouldn't we wouldn't know it in free agency Know what after the draft. No, but yeah, I think if you're barmore you might have to At least be aware of this pickup as if like oh, okay Like if they do want to move on for me there they're more equipped to do that then I would say even moving on from step-dix and like what they have left over Just real quick looking at it Andrew Callahan you mentioned making a couple of moves at edge rusher I don't think Dremond Jones precludes them from doing it He wrote that Tray Hendrickson Jalen Phillips who I thought the latest kind of T. Leaves were that he was going back to Philly and Philly really wanted to keep him Uh, and then away in San Diego or I'm sorry the L.H. Argers all appealed to the Patriots particularly Jalen Phillips
20He writes but the front office prepared to be priced out in what's expected to be a red hot edge rusher market Therefore, it's likely the Patriots double dip with another cheaper option like Titans turn raven defensive lineman Dremond Jones or Packers draft pick Kingslin And I bury is that another name that Taylor Kyle's brought up Taylor Kyle's had his top five targets. One of them was Alec Pierce Number two was Dremond Jones. Oh nice. They got top defensive target number three was Kobe Bryant Yep from Seattle not that Kobe Bryant. I don't know safety up Yeah, the number four was tight and Charlie Kohler That's a raven that's their third tight and he's like third or fourth tight He's like a glorified like offensive lineman right and catch passes. He's just a blocker But okay, I guess that's a realistic pickup. Yep And number five was edge Arnold Ebbick Kettie. Okay. I thought it was Kingsley and I don't know. Okay, so those are different names Keep an eye on those at edge rusher Callahan says both players drew interest from the Patriots of the trade deadline Though talks involving Jones were never serious according to his story So he's hearing some of what Mike G. R.D. was as well
21If you're curious about Dremond Jones and where he fits on some of these free agent lists Yeah, and you mentioned like a fifth round pick that's good value 39 million. That's real money On Profitball talks free agent list. He was 57 Uh, ravens edge rusher Dremond Jones right behind Christian Ellis's brother Kaden Ellis in Atlanta and right ahead of former Brown's offensive guard Wyatt Teller So an easy top 100 free agent not a top 50 free agent. Correct in their mind We also have on ESPN's list who put this together Matt Bowen I think yeah 57 exactly the same same. That's weird. Yeah, someone's cheating Somebody's peeking at the other list. He added for an analysis what he brings Dremond Jones who was traded from Tennessee to Baltimore midseason had seven sacks and 45 pressures in 2025 The veteran can be displaced in the run game. Oh, I don't like that. Okay, but brings inside outside alignment flexibility And the first step quickness to disrupt the pocket so that does sound a little it sounds like a lighter bar more It does go later bar more. Yeah, so what does that move mean for Christian bar more maybe nothing
24Or maybe it makes it that much easier to move on and it sounds like the Patriots are poised to Move on is what it sounds like that could be the next thing Well, that's what I mean When the offseason began those were the two guys that we were kind of looking at step digs and bar more I'm like are they long for the team digs clearly wasn't didn't even make it the free agency week. They already caught them Bar more maybe a little bit more complicated because you'd already paid him and they're kind of trying to figure out what they have there But that would just create another need unless maybe you sort of figured it out here But I think I don't think you dream on Jones probably is I'm gonna play one spot You know, like it doesn't seem like I seem like you can maximize and move them around a little bit Looking at other moves. No, I'm just sifting through some of the other the numbers are coming in a little higher on Walker Then we had before Pelicero has higher numbers Just looking at some more stuff on dream on Jones, but no, that's where we're at so far in free agency One signing for the Pats how much more will they do now that legal tampering is under the way here throughout the NFL big moves Happening around the league Alec Pierce back to the Colts Kenneth Walker to the Kansas City Chiefs who also brought back Travis Kelsey
29Meanwhile sounds like toa could be going to the Atlanta Falcons other moves We can get you up to speed on as well, but with the Patriots to buy out earlier today staves a few bucks that they in turn Sent four dream on Jones three years 39 and a half million guaranteed 14 million guaranteed up front According to rap sheet we can get to the latest on AJ Brown and more throughout NFL legal tampering with your phone calls six one seven seven seven seven nine seven ninety three seven that comes your way
