The company removed the book from Amazon and their website right away. It had already come out in the United Kingdom, selling over 1,800 print copies, but has Shhtetet is discontinuing it there too. Through their UK imprint, readers first praised the self-published version from February 2025 as a fresh feminist horror story, giving it an average of 3. 0.52 stars on Goodreads from nearly 5,000 reviews, but soon complaints rolled in about repetitive phrasing, odd formatting, and a feel like machine-written content. Baller denies personally using AI, blimming in editor she hired for the original self-published edition.
