AI-Altered Child Abuse Material Found on Man's Devices

0:00I'm Cory, and this is your Pulse of the City, Birmingham News Today. A cybertip reported back in January, led the Center Police Department to a 21-year-old man named Maliki Ray Sipsi. Officials say he was using artificial intelligence to alter child sexual abuse material. Center Chief Investigator Randy Mayorga, teamed up with the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office to dig into Sipsi's phones and other devices. That collaboration uncovered videos and photos, including ones manipulated by AI. The discovery has sparked strong warnings from police about online dangers for kids. They're stressing how important it is for parents to manually review their children's gadgets and switch social media settings to private. Sipsi now faces four counts of possessing child sexual abuse material, plus 122 counts of attempted possession, no word yet on a court date or trial details. Center Police gave a big shout-out to their partners at the Sheriff's Office, especially Chief Investigator Brian Gilliland for making the case.
